Cubs lose to the Reds today. 3-2 Cincinnati the final. With a win tonight we would have picked up 1.5 games on the Cubs in the last two days.
Looking forward to tuning in tonight. I’ll have to miss my late Friday night episode of Barnaby Jones, however.

Have very fond memories of PD. The Cleveland Plain Dealer was/is the finest newspaper in our great land. Cranny’s PD isn’t too shabby either. I have a feeling that we will find DeJong to be a new man when it comes to decreasing his whiffs at the dish. Sometimes that’s all a guy needs is too have a month or so off to clear his head and work out a remedy for what ails him in his chosen profession. I bet his K rate will be way down from here on in. God willing, I’ll be on hand for this evening’s game thread. I have been embroiled in a work project these past few weeks and have missed our threads.
What could possibly go wrong with CB behind the plate?
CB called this swing a foul ball with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th to extend a game with the winning runs on base.

I’ve said for the last 2-3 years that C.B. Bucknor and Angel Hernandez are the two worst umpires in the game. I still believe that too.

p.s. speaking of C.B, I am having a CB Radio installed in my Ford F150 truck on the 16th.
Gant with some walks and a SF and WP and it’s 1-1
Gyorko with a heads up play at 3rd. If Martinez is at 1st he doesn’t come up with that.
Gyorko could have been brought up on manslaughter charges if Rodriquez doesn’t evade that scorcher right back at him and out into center for a hit….and mow the 6-4-3 twin killing will extinguish the Redbird threat here in the top of the 4th….still tied st a run apiece.
Terrific play???? Ozuna did not have to hit the turf on that fly ball he just nabbed at the foul line in left.
So far CB has called a pretty fair game. Hey Rat…..thumbs up good buddy on that cb for the Ratmobile! Now Rodriguez rams a double to left putting runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. And Gant really has not fooled any Giant carrying a bat this inning. Thank God their pitcher is now at the dish….and on cue he grounds out to short to end the inning.
Lets get someone up and moving around here in the pen just in case. Gant has slimed his way out of trouble for most of the night.
Going back quickly to Rat with his new cb…..hair slicked back….cool breeze in his face as he races down I-80 in his cardinal red F150…..one arm drapped around some pretty little filly sitting next to him….foot long stoggie jetting straight out from his chapped lips….Redbird game barring on the radio…

Defense does rule! Bader holds Posey to just one base instead of two with his speed and hustle….and what a dangerously good combination that is….speed & hustle. Many ballplayers possess one….but few can claim both..
…Bader is certainly one who can.Gant needs to start pounding the zone like he did vs Cleveland if he has any notion whatsoever of thriving much longer in this one….and there it is! Whiffs Belt on a dandy to retire the Giants here in the 5th. Still deadlocked at a run as we mossy on along to the 6th.
How about the cubbies coming up again on the short end of the stick vs Cincy today. I think that’s 5 straight for the Redlegs vs the cubs. Before this season is all said and done, the Reds may end up costing the cubs a playoff berth. I never thought I would say this but…God love Cincinnati and their beloved Reds!
Wong looks like a player and certainly fields like one….but oh Nellie is that stick of his butt ugly! It just has to be Schrock time pretty darn soon….I just know he’s going to do well at this level….oh oh! Sandoval just puts one 1 row up into the cheap seats in left and the Giants have seized a 2-1 advantage.
It was 96 in Mission Beach today. I am dragging ass because I walk a lot places at my job.
Sandoval homer 2-1 but it’s just a solo round tripper.
It may be enough tonight. Offense looks tired and missing our lanky whatever he plays in the field.
