Ozuna and Fowler let fly balls fall in front of them that were playable on the fly. Fowler gave up on his fly ball at the crack of the bat. With his speed he could have been under that ball with a little effort. Ozuna just made a bad play. If you can’t make the catch, then position yourself for the one hop so you can play it cleanly, baseball 101. With the exception of Pham, J-Mart, Gyorko and Wong, overall effort on this team is a C- right now.
May 1, 2018 at 8:39 pm #50695ive been trying to find the interview with ozuna where he half brags about “never watching tape” ive really had it with this guy, not trying to be reactionary, everyone goes into slumps, hes swinging at curves and sliders way out of the zone and looking like a kid in the outfield, plus there is his secret arm injury…im officially worried about this team
May 1, 2018 at 8:41 pm #50696cards/sox i can understand laying out for that with two outs and runners on second and third, but his jump was terrible, he just doesnt look athletic
May 1, 2018 at 8:43 pm #50697My gosh, Shields came into this game with a 6.14 ERA and the Cards hitters are making him look 10 years younger. One hit in four innings.
May 1, 2018 at 8:51 pm #50698Agree athleticism on this team is noticeably lacking. Must have over-exerted themselves dancing around home plate a couple weeks ago, which was the most energy I’ve seen from these guys all year.
May 1, 2018 at 9:06 pm #50699Just pathetic!
May 1, 2018 at 9:18 pm #50702Hicks looked ok to me. 14 pitch inning with the walk.
May 1, 2018 at 9:21 pm #50703Things have been re-calibrated. It feels like the Cards are losing…and they are. Carp just hit a double, so maybe things’ll get un-calibrated again here soon.
May 1, 2018 at 9:25 pm #50704Regardless of Carp’s double, when does Mabry get canned?
May 1, 2018 at 9:26 pm #50705WTF are you doing Carpenter!!!!
May 1, 2018 at 9:32 pm #50707WTF are you doing Carpenter!!!!
Carpenter is going to Carpenter. He is just awful this year.
May 1, 2018 at 9:40 pm #50709That was a leadoff double squandered. Wong gets thrown out and Carpenter for some reason just puts his head down and doesn’t bother checking on where the ball is located. He wasn’t even a 1/3 of the way down the line.
It’s almost like .500 is the new culture in the clubhouse. These players have been allowed to make bonehead play after bonehead play for the last 2 plus seasons. When will it stop?
May 1, 2018 at 9:42 pm #50710When will it stop?
When fans stop showing up at the rate of 38K a game.
May 1, 2018 at 9:44 pm #50711Okay just had a chance to look at box score and get caught up getting home from softball tonight. Carpenter with 2 more strikeouts and a bonehead play. The guy needs sent down. Just 4 hits against two guys with ERAs over 5. How did Mabry not get shown the door. The guy is a horrible coach.
May 1, 2018 at 9:54 pm #50714White Sox might be 10 games under and pretty bad, but evidently they’re not Cincinnati Reds bad.
May 1, 2018 at 9:55 pm #50715Who didn’t see the double play coming?
May 1, 2018 at 10:06 pm #50718Well I didn’t see the HR coming from Carp. He really needs to put ABs like that together.
May 1, 2018 at 10:06 pm #50719Just when it appeared the Cards were going to waste a rare good outing from the pen, Carp hits a HR. Game tied 2-2 with no outs in the bottom of the 9th.
May 1, 2018 at 10:07 pm #50720Great! It’s now tied.
Maybe we’d be going home if he’s had his head up.
Homer #100 in Matheny’s 1000th game. Omen maybe?
May 1, 2018 at 10:11 pm #50721Homer #100 in Matheny’s 1000th game. Omen maybe?
Well they are tied together at the hip
May 1, 2018 at 10:12 pm #50722Yadi with the walk off hit scoring Ozuna.
May 1, 2018 at 10:12 pm #50723Yadi gets it done!
Wong with the error with the water bucket.
May 1, 2018 at 10:13 pm #50724Great! An excuse for Matheny to bench Molina tomorrow. His jammed his thumb a a bit.
Molina with the game winning hit.
May 1, 2018 at 10:15 pm #50725The Cards come back with two in the ninth to break the three-game losing streak. 3-2 win. St. Louis is now 16-12 on the season.
May 1, 2018 at 10:16 pm #50726He actually thought it was gone on the OZuna double and grabbed the top off like he was going to get it ready to dump on him.
