7:15 p.m. Michael Wacha (3-1, 4.22) vs. RHP Noah Syndergaard (2-0, 3.29) FOX Sports Midwest/KMOX
Update: Due to the Mets Sunday cancellation, LHP Steven Matz (1-1, 4.42) will start instead.
April 25, 2018 at 3:11 pm #50098Anybody think this is an important game?

April 25, 2018 at 3:41 pm #50103I like the idea of Wong playing everyday at 2B with Carp and Jedd platooning at 3B, at least until the trade deadline.
April 25, 2018 at 3:45 pm #50104i liked the lineup with Molina in the 2 hole
lots of options with our lineups with the types of guys we have… other than JMart and Ozuna occupying somewhere between 3-5 and Yadi and DeJong not leading off I think almost all of the rest is interchangeable
April 25, 2018 at 6:41 pm #50119SNY Mets pre-game show indicates key to rattle Matz is to get on base and run on him and he can unravel quickly. Pham and Fowler batting no. 1 and 2 for Cards.

April 25, 2018 at 7:08 pm #50121The Cards want to play the Reds. DeJong wants to play the Mets.
Paul DeJong’s RBI-double last night was his 12th extra-base hit in 11 games against the Mets. The only other player with as many XBHs as DeJong in his first 11 games vs the Mets was Willie Mays.#Mets at #Cardinals

April 25, 2018 at 7:15 pm #501223 BB’s in 90 PA’s. Nope not DeJong, that BB% of 3.3% belongs to Ozuna, DeJong is at 5.7%.
April 25, 2018 at 7:21 pm #50124Wacha's first 2 Ks were at 96 and 97 mph, respectively. His average FB this season is 93.

April 25, 2018 at 7:25 pm #50125Time will tell if it ends up working in the Cards’ favor but…with Bader’s career numbers against LHP indicates he probably should have started over Fowler tonight.
April 25, 2018 at 8:00 pm #50127NJ315ParticipantBroken bat single gives the Mets the lead. 1-0
April 25, 2018 at 8:01 pm #50128Michael struggled to throw first pitch strikes that inning.
April 25, 2018 at 8:08 pm #50129NJ315ParticipantBader pinch hitting for Pham
April 25, 2018 at 8:10 pm #50130here’s Matz baserunners problem mentioned upthread
April 25, 2018 at 8:11 pm #50131Why in the world did Bader swing on 3-1 with a base open and the big boys coming up? Fortunately, he walked on next pitch. Hopefully, Pham did not aggravate his injury, but that seems possible.
April 25, 2018 at 8:17 pm #50132RBI single by Martinez ties the score at 1-1 in B3rd. Ozuna plates two more. 3-1.
April 25, 2018 at 8:19 pm #50133Oquendo aggressive sending Bader, good call.
April 25, 2018 at 8:21 pm #50134I thought Wacha could have scored on Martinez’ single, once it was clear Bruce’s throw was way up the line. But no reason to risk injury to the pitcher. It didn’t matter when Ozuna came through.
April 25, 2018 at 8:23 pm #50135Pham has an “accidental head laceration”. Now, what happened?
April 25, 2018 at 8:23 pm #50136NJ315ParticipantAccidental head laceration for Pham.
April 25, 2018 at 8:30 pm #50137Back in the stretch for Matz……
April 25, 2018 at 8:36 pm #50138Safety squeeze with Wacha bunting and DeJong scoring. Small ball working.
April 25, 2018 at 8:39 pm #50139Matz folds like a day lilly with runners on. Reminds me of Jaime Garcia unraveling.
April 25, 2018 at 8:42 pm #50140Bases loaded walk to Fowler scores Wong and ends Matz’ night at 3 2/3 innings. Cards up 5-1 and just one out.
April 25, 2018 at 8:50 pm #50142our lineup has figured out the answer for our pen.
