Nevermind!
Big City with the same instructions as O’Neill.
He pops out to left!
September 24, 2018 at 9:32 pm #70597Hicks in. Here we go!

stlcard25ParticipantSeems like kind of a waste to use O’Neill up to let Adams hit. I bet their outcomes over a year against RHP would be about the same.
September 24, 2018 at 9:35 pm #70599Great answer – wish Adams would have taken a pitch but what an inning.
September 24, 2018 at 9:36 pm #70600Did MM sneak back into the stadium and take over? That some of the worst in game management. How do you burn both Adam and O’Neil in a close game like this?
September 24, 2018 at 9:37 pm #70602The rookies are having trouble throwing strikes.
We burned O’Neill. Lets see if it burns us late.
Honestly I’d gone to Mayers because he was already up. Another questionable call!
September 24, 2018 at 9:38 pm #70604Does Hicks have the most hittable 100+ mph fastball ever? I used to think Rosie did because his pitches were fairly straight, but Hicks’ heater has some movement. What is it?
September 24, 2018 at 9:42 pm #70605Wow. Flaherty, Hudson and Hicks allstruggling with the most basic pitching fundamental. Location, location, location.
September 24, 2018 at 9:43 pm #70606I think it’s honestly batter just putting wood on the ball and taking it oppo and the fact he has to rely on his fastball too much due to his command issues.
September 24, 2018 at 9:45 pm #70607If you can’t throw your 100mph for strikes (and in general strikeouts), what’s the point of even throwing that hard? He can’t even find the plate.
September 24, 2018 at 9:46 pm #70608How can you leave Hicks out there?
September 24, 2018 at 9:47 pm #70609Wow. Flaherty, Hudson and Hicks allstruggling with the most basic pitching fundamental. Location, location, location.
Something the whole staff needs to improve at.

stlcard25ParticipantThe team is gifted with something that almost never happens in Hader struggling, and they hand it back with bad bench management and inability to throw strikes. Gonna have to score on the Brewers bullpen once again.
September 24, 2018 at 9:52 pm #70612Hicks shouldn’t be used in situations like this right now. In his last 7 games he’s give up 5 runs off 5 hits in 7.1 IP with 6 BBs to 8 Ks.
September 24, 2018 at 9:53 pm #70613Hicks blows the save in the 7th, but DeJong saves him from becoming the potential losing pitcher with a nice play for the second out of the inning to keep it tied. Then Hicks comes back with a nice slider to strike out Aguilar.

It seems so with how unreliable he has been lately. However, I think it shows us the general state of our pen now. Options and depth are thin. Glad to see Brebbia coming around lately though.

stlcard25ParticipantNot sure who the rain delay helps or hurts. But with the Rockies beating the Phillies, this game takes on a lot of added significance as a loss would drop them into a tie in the loss column.
September 24, 2018 at 10:05 pm #70616Rain delay hurts me. Just looked at the radar and this one will blow by quickly, but I need some sleep before work though (live eastern time). Darnit.
September 24, 2018 at 10:12 pm #70618Tarp coming off but rain still coming down. Hope Mayer’s can put a stop to these guys when he comes in. Burning ONeil was very questionable. Schildt commented earlier today about succes against bullpens in late innings. Not sure that will work tonight with Adams and ONeill out now, but hoping for the best. Treating the field now. Play should resume soon.
September 24, 2018 at 10:21 pm #70619Weather permitting, we expect to resume tonight's game at 10:30 pm CT. pic.twitter.com/m7QDrlCwvS

September 24, 2018 at 10:38 pm #70626Norris in now. Better have his stuff tonight.
September 24, 2018 at 10:41 pm #70628We’ve got to figure out a way to win the F****** game!
September 24, 2018 at 10:42 pm #70629There’s the O’Neill Burn!
September 24, 2018 at 10:44 pm #70631If we lose this it’s all on Shildt. He has been at his very worst tonight.
September 24, 2018 at 10:48 pm #70633I’m scared to see how we get through this week with the pen. Especially since the Rockies get the Phillies and nats
