stlcard25ParticipantOr he’s due to hit into a double play. The Greg Garcia era can come to an end any time now, IMO.

stlcard25ParticipantFlaherty was out of gas. It seemed completely obvious after the walk. Why leave him in? Now you’ve put the team in a deeper hole. This after taking guys out ridiculously early in the last brutal stretch. I dunno what the bullpen strategy for Shildt is at all.

stlcard25Participant4-1 now. I don’t think we can manage two comebacks from that deficit in a row. Just a poor day all around for the Cardinals.

stlcard25ParticipantGray getting calls 4″ off the plate now after Flaherty gets squeezed. This seems like a ridiculous pattern that never changes, or maybe I just watch all the games where it happens.
July 31, 2018 at 10:03 pm #63501Munoz with a great play followed by just an inexcusable error.
I like Munoz! I was all over him as my guy in the spring but his best position moving forward might be 3rd or CF. I do like his versatility in the field. He just make a lot of errors at SS and 2nd.
July 31, 2018 at 10:07 pm #63504Way to hack away there DeJong.

stlcard25ParticipantIt could have been worse, I guess. The Mets lost 25-4. Yikes
Still, they’re going to have to win the next two to keep the dimming playoff hopes alive.

ParticipantTough to win when the middle of your lineup is 0 for 16.
August 1, 2018 at 12:05 pm #63561they dont have to win the next 2 to keep anything alive….it sure would help, but it still just 1 win difference…
it is easy to find reasons or outcomes that woudl allow one to give up on the team, but it just isnt true…we have come back from worse odds, and we have yet to really have big winning streak…the Bucs showed you can be “out of it” and still go on a streak… there is no reason the Cardinals cant as well
we just cant go into a losing spiral… if we can go .500 here it isnt the end of the world..even losing the next 2 woudlnt be crazy…but it woudl be harder…
i am interested to see how this team acts and plays now that the deadline is over…i think the trade jitters and anxiety really got to them yesterday…losing Pham was a big deal whether he was best friends with them or not…it put everyone on notice and had to have had everyone on edge…
i dont think the Rockies were feeling that at all..they clawed back in it and were really only looking to add…the Cardinals, almost everyone on the team had potential of being traded yesterday on their mind…and if not them, their friends and teammates…
that’s nerve racking…and let’s not forget that paychecks and MLB status doesnt make these guys mature or grown up…for the most part they are 20 somethings and havent dealt with situations liek this often
