Wooooooo Gomber beating it out! Love it.
July 24, 2018 at 8:05 pm #61927
stlcard25ParticipantThere goes Austin with the deep single up the middle!
Let’s drive in a few more, Marp!!
July 24, 2018 at 8:06 pm #61928I bet CardinalBabe1982 hasn’t had her birthday yet this year, or Pugs would be right.
July 24, 2018 at 8:07 pm #61930
stlcard25ParticipantBases juiced for Yadi…again, insurance runs would be wonderful.
July 24, 2018 at 8:09 pm #61931Euro
You would be correct. But, did you ever think maybe rather than my birth year, maybe I was honoring the great Cards team of 82? 2 birds, one stone, I guess.
July 24, 2018 at 8:10 pm #61932
stlcard25ParticipantDarn, flyout. Still, peradventure the offense is about to open up and score a few more runs the last couple innings and tomorrow?
July 24, 2018 at 8:13 pm #61934
stlcard25ParticipantWhat in the world is going on with this fire alarm?
It’d probably help Austin to have the lights and sirens. Haha
July 24, 2018 at 8:15 pm #61935CB1982: Well I did actually….just to counter Pugs, and at the risk of a virtual cyber slap, I started to say you might be 76, guessing you were maybe 40 when the Porter and gang won the WS, but I wasn’t quick enough. Glad you’re 35 though!
July 24, 2018 at 8:17 pm #61936
stlcard25ParticipantOk, Scooter gave that one a ride but hopefully Austin can settle down and get back into the groove the rest of this inning.
July 24, 2018 at 8:20 pm #61939
stlcard25ParticipantWell, if the no-no had to go, I guess Votto was the most likely. Still pretty cool to have back to back rookies with 6+ no-hit innings back to back.
July 24, 2018 at 8:21 pm #61940Votto gets the first hit. Glad Gomber challenged him in that situation rather than walking him.
July 24, 2018 at 8:21 pm #61941Here we go again.
July 24, 2018 at 8:22 pm #61942NJ315
ParticipantSuarez ties it.
July 24, 2018 at 8:22 pm #61943
stlcard25ParticipantEr, hold that. Tied up.
I have to admit that there’s something about Suarez that annoys me. Maybe that he’s having such a good season after the most memorable thing he’s done against the Cards is to be picked off by Yadi on the bonehead play at third last year.
July 24, 2018 at 8:23 pm #61944I guess Gomber will be sent down to Springfield now.
July 24, 2018 at 8:23 pm #61945Damn.Just had the feeling Saurez would nail one.Gomber has been darn good until then.Still a very good start by Gomber.
July 24, 2018 at 8:24 pm #61947NJ315
ParticipantPirates winning again. At this pace they will pass the Brewers soon.
July 24, 2018 at 8:29 pm #61950
stlcard25ParticipantThe Pirates are a low talent team with a worse manager than Matheny who are playing on guts and heart right now. Not saying they can’t continue but they’ll still finish well under .500 when all is said and done. IMO.
July 24, 2018 at 8:29 pm #61951I would have pulled Gomber after the Votto hit, but that’s just me. No hitter into the 7th then a clean single, pull the guy even if you have an iffy bullpen.
Time for our offense to put up a tally or two. Let’s se if they’re really “professional hitters” like the on field management likes to say.
July 24, 2018 at 8:34 pm #61956It is just incredible that Cards have hit 0 Homeruns in GABP this series.
July 24, 2018 at 8:34 pm #61957
stlcard25ParticipantPham has looked a bit overmatched at the plate tonight. He’s missed a couple good pitches and swung at a few iffy ones. He did make a nice play on the ball in LCF in the 6th but he needs to keep hitting the ball to add value.
July 24, 2018 at 8:39 pm #61960Nobody on the team has looked like Ted Simmons or Albert out there last few games after the explosion versus Cubbies.
July 24, 2018 at 8:43 pm #61962I hope Pham isn’t slipping back to whatever form was causing him problems earlier. He obviously needs to stay in contact with his hitting guru.
July 24, 2018 at 8:44 pm #61963
stlcard25ParticipantWell, on to the 9th. Can the bottom half of the lineup get a run or three?
July 24, 2018 at 8:50 pm #61964
stlcard25ParticipantThey showed Tyler Lyons and Norris warming up. I’m guessing Tyler comes in if the game is tied and Bud if the Cards manage to score. I don’t hold a lot of hope for Tyler. ?
