Cards waste the lead off double by Ozuna. Pham is the main culprit by not bringing him home from third with one out.

Ozuna is stranded. Darn, we needed to score there.

Great news on the little girl.

Gomber with the big breaker for two Ks in the 2nd.

Two walks for Gomber there but they get out of it thanks to bad base running by the Reds. They had botched the rundown before the mistake by the Reds coming home.

What was the pop fly like? I can’t watch the game.

Too bad we still don’t have the PM feature, as I could send you my email address and password so you could watch all the action, Forschster.

Forsch, it was a popout to Votto not much behind the 1B bag.

Good on Jmart for driving in Dejong after the double. Can we please score a few more runs???

Is it just me or does Bailey look a little like Christian Bale?

    I can see the resemblance.

Two decently struck balls this inning end up in Cincinnati gloves. Not the best luck.

Forsch, I stepped away but see stlcard answered your question. The big chance Pham missed was on a 2-0 pitch. It was very hit-able, but he fouled it off. Then he swung at a questionable one away to even the count before fouling out.

I see we scored while I was away. Maybe I’ll step away again.

I was away for the run scored too, euro. I’ve been coming back to watch Gomber work.

He looks really good so far. Need the offense to pick him up and give some cushion.

Marp not doing much tonight. Two Ks already, and no hits. He looks to be pressing just a bit.

This board is heading in the right direction. Not only is the activity rising nicely, but also I see a group of posters who quickly respond to their fellow poster’s questions. That has always not been the case. If this site is this amiable when we’re not fielding the best of teams, just think how it will be when our Birds start winning titles again. Well done Cardinal Nation!

Apart from the 18 run explosion Friday afternoon in Chicago, this team has scored 15 runs in 6.5 games since the All Star break. Not very solid.

Pugs, I think Forsch’s problem is he’s in a blackout region. You’re blocked if the login IP address comes from a blacked out area.

Forsch it might be against your values (I’m not making a judgement either way), but have you considered VPN (virtual private network) as a workaround? Although I think I read MLB had really squashed a lot of that. I’m lucky in VA, just have to remember to tune into MASN if the Cards play the Nats or O’s.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, I’ve always thought Homer and Christian Bale could easily be brothers.

Glad to have a lead, but if last night taught us anything…1 probably ain’t enough.

Euro, you are right. I am in the blackout region. I wish Mediacom would listen to the residents of my town and add FSMW.

Poncedeleon and Gomber with 13 consecutive no no innings and score is 1-0 again. I don’t like the way this game is going, LOL.

The blackout rules are very silly to begin with. What do they gain by alienating potential fans simply because they’re within 3-4 hours of a team? Do they make that much less money on a mlb.tv subscription??

We’ll have to watch our language on these game threads now that we have a lady watching the action with us. I know a gentleman never asks a woman how old she is, but I’m guessing CardinalBabe82 to be 36 years young.

The realist in me says Gomber will be the setup man for our terrible bullpen, like Ponce-D was yesterday. The optimist in me says Gomber will pitch a no-no under 100 pitches. There’s probably not much in between.

BCRan, good stats earlier. Our starters should be going postal on our bullpen and offense.

Cards need an epic finish to make the playoffs but still possible, just very low percentage right now.

Muñoz drives in Dexter, and Gomber gets to bat for himself. It appeared as though they were going to go to the bullpen before that hit.

Haha…35, but wow, what a guess!

And, trust me…no need to watch your language with me.

stlcard25, I’ve wondered the same, but haven’t researched it. My thought has been the money they get from the TV/cable contracts would be much less if they didn’t provide the exclusivity provided by the blackout to the TV/cable companies. In this cord cutting era, I’m sure that’s true to an extent, but there may be other factors. Does this sort of thinking lack vision for the long haul though? Like you said, they could be alienating potential young fans (more likely to be cord cutters) and MLB is not in a position to be doing that.
