Replaces Posey due to an injury. Should’ve made it over him to begin with.
Maybe so, but if more fans had voted for Molina and he finished higher than fourth, he probably would have.
Posey was named by MLB players in their vote so he was the second catcher behind Contreras. Realmuto was added as Miami’s only All-Star. It wasn’t a fluke as Realmuto is having the best year of them all.

Well they eliminated the paper ballot. Might of had something to do with it. Also has Yadi’s defensive war taken a tumble due to the fact he’s not only older but no one really puts him to the test much.
I just want to give Miles credit for proving me wrong for the first half of the season. It didn’t start well in ST but he got it together. He earned his AS spot and then some in the first half. I hope I’m still wrong about him being a bad signing once the season has concluded and he has a fantastic finish in the second half. Well done so far Miles. Keep it up young man!

Aguilar is having a great year for the best team in the NL (so far). He really deserves the spot.
An amazing all-star that does not get much press is Scooter Gennett. The Reds grabbed him off the waiver wire, and he really turned his career up a few notches since donning their uniform. Plug him in as our second baseman, and assume he had similar numbers, and we are probably in the hunt.
But at the time he was released, no way I would have thought he would be this good (not that we had a shot at him anyway). I thought Wong would have been that type of player by now.

May have been posted elsewhere,didn’t see it, but Dodgers Stripling in for Mikolas since he is starting Sunday.
Jeremy Jeffress has been added as an All-Star. The Brewers now have the most NL All-Stars, five – Cain, Yelich, Hader and Aguilar. Oh yeah, they also have the most wins in the league, 55.

AL looked like they would win 5-3 as Jean Segura hit go-ahead 3-run HR in eighth. Scooter Gennett tied the game with a 2-run HR in ninth. All 10 runs scored via HRs. Now into extra innings.
Molina flied out to deep CF in his only AB.
Astros Bregman and Springer go deep back to back against Ross Stripling (who replaced Mikolas on the NL team) to put AL back on top 7-5.
