I guess Mikolas will be the lone selection?

June 25, 2018 at 12:22 pm #58077I wouldn’t vote for any of our position players other than Molina. If DeJong was healthy maybe him.
June 25, 2018 at 1:38 pm #58087Braves must have a big campaign going on…Suzuki is a fine enough catcher but being that high on the catcher list screams of organizational campaigning at the parks online etc. Not that they shouldn’t do it, but Grandal and Yadi definitely should be above Suzuki
not to mention Camargo being ahead of Suarez and a lto of others…or Swanson over several others…
Yadi might get one of the backup spots deservedly
I think Mikolas is close, and Flaherty could be a dark horse
Hicks and Norris seems like solid potential invitesthough at the end of the day i think we get two… Yadi and Norris
Even if one of the rotation guys probably deserves it moreJune 25, 2018 at 5:16 pm #58096I think they’ll be 3 Cardinals represented… J-Mart, Micholas, and Hicks. Until he was injured, I would have put Wacha in there as well.
June 25, 2018 at 5:39 pm #58099My thoughts precisely, 2011Seems. I like the way you think! I may as well stop posting because 2011Seems always writes what I’m thinking anyways.
June 25, 2018 at 5:41 pm #58100I don`t feel any of our position players deserve to go.Mikolas deserves serious consideration.Norris struggles lately hurt him i think.
July 8, 2018 at 4:24 pm #59551Rosters will be announced Monday – correction – Sunday night. Mikolas still looks to be the only likely selection, IMO.

July 8, 2018 at 6:10 pm #59568Contreras passing Posey to start means Molina has to compete with Realmuto and Posey. Not looking great for his chances.
July 8, 2018 at 6:15 pm #59569It comes down to who the manager and players and really right?
Yadi is pretty highly regarded on both sides
Still whonother than Realmuto makes it from the Marlins?
Posey playing 1b might give us a shot with maybe taking 4 catchers.
Carp has an outside shot. Same with JMart.
Mikolas might end up the only guy. And might not get to pitch with all the relievers
July 8, 2018 at 6:16 pm #59570Maybe put Yadi on the last man in ballot see if he gets the votes

July 8, 2018 at 6:37 pm #59575Awesome for Mikolas
July 8, 2018 at 6:40 pm #59576Realmuto and Posey are the catching reserves, so Molina is currently on the outside. Looking like he would either need an injury to one of the top three or perhaps he will be included on the Final Man ballot.
The thought of Posey playing some first seems remote with both Goldschmidt and Votto reserves.
Your National League All-Star reserves:
Buster Posey
J.T. Realmuto
Paul Goldschmidt
Joey Votto
Ozzie Albies
Scooter Gennett
Eugenio Suarez
Trevor Story

July 8, 2018 at 6:55 pm #59579Just talking options Brian. He plays there enough to warrant that he is also aback up 1b man regardless of Yadi being able to get in.
Kinda curious who might be in that final vote
Maybe Hoskins? Carp? Yadi? Soto?
Trying to think of other unsung guys on the outside.

July 8, 2018 at 7:07 pm #59585Carp Muncy Aguilar Belt Turner
Tough for Carp but still a shot
SF always votes. Aguilars having a great year. Turner is fun Muncy is LAD so you never know if they will get the fans awake for him
Come on StL nation. Get Carp in!
July 8, 2018 at 7:07 pm #59586Carpenter made the Final Vote list. Molina did not.
These guys still have a chance.

ParticipantOnly one Cardinal in the top 5 of any of the infield positions (Molina at #4 in the catcher category).
No Cardinal in the top 15 of OF vote getters. Would like to hear Mo’s comments on this.July 9, 2018 at 9:45 am #59642Possible options:
1) Players not that good.
2) Players having down years.
3) Players injured.
4) Fans too apathetic to vote often enough.Other thoughts?
July 9, 2018 at 10:57 am #59649Congrats to Mikolas.IMHO no other Card deserved to be a All-Star.Wacha
s injury cost him and Molina might have had a shot if he didnt miss a month.July 9, 2018 at 11:42 am #59654bccran
ParticipantBarring injuries and underperformance, how many of the Cardinals realistically would have made the team?
July 9, 2018 at 1:13 pm #59657
stlcard25ParticipantIf Carpenter had hit in April and early May like he has the last two months he’d have made it. Pham, if he had continued his numbers from early season as well. Wacha and Martinez may have without the injuries. Yadi perhaps as well. Dejong may have had a shot, too.
This really has been a season plagued by very inconsistent performance and injuries.
