Lance Lynn (10-6, 3.17) vs. Chris Archer (9-7, 3.76) 1:15 pm FOX Sports Midwest
August 27, 2017 at 10:55 am #31753Carpenter 1B
Pham LF
DeJong SS
Fowler CF
Molina C
Wong 2B
Piscotty RF
Garcia 3B
Lynn PLooks like Garcia will be the third baseman with Gyorko out.
August 27, 2017 at 12:42 pm #31764Wouldn’t this have been a good time to bring Diaz back to play SS and shift DeJong over to 3rd? Hasn’t he played 3rd at times in his career? And isn’t Diaz doing fairly well recently down in Memphis?

August 27, 2017 at 1:50 pm #31770Any word on Gyrko?
August 27, 2017 at 1:55 pm #31771Gyorko on 10-day DL. Strained hamstring, but no tear. They said they hope he’s back in a couple weeks, and if so, it would be a relatively minor hammy injury.
August 27, 2017 at 2:29 pm #31772Top of the 5th, Rays lead 1-0…
August 27, 2017 at 3:14 pm #31773Bottom of the 7th, Wong hits a solo shot to make it 2-1 Rays lead…

ParticipantOne position pony called up?
Must like his bat. They may even think he could be a big bat??August 27, 2017 at 4:03 pm #31775Top of the 9th, now tied 2-2 after Carpenter’s HR…
August 27, 2017 at 4:14 pm #31776Why is Pham not out there every day?
August 27, 2017 at 4:14 pm #31777Excellent catch by Pham in the 9th to keep the Rays off the board. Brebbia with 4 outs of scoreless relief. Game tied 2-2. Stage is set for another walk off.

ParticipantWhat’s the matter with Piscotty?
Is it physical, mental, or emotional?August 27, 2017 at 4:25 pm #31779Shocked Grichuk struck out.

ParticipantHe’s close to running out his string here.
August 27, 2017 at 4:31 pm #31781How many strikeouts do the cards have today?
August 27, 2017 at 4:41 pm #31782Bottom of the 10th now, Rays up 3-2 after another HR…
August 27, 2017 at 4:43 pm #31783Cards about to lose in extras unless Pham, DeJong and/or Fowler can do something about it.
August 27, 2017 at 4:49 pm #31784It’s going to be hard to win a lot of games if Piscotty and Grichuk keep coming up in key spots. Some very bad swings, especially by Piscotty, coming from those two in the 9th when we needed to end it. Would’ve like to have seen Martinez in for Piscotty at that point…kinda knew what Piscotty was going to do.
August 27, 2017 at 4:52 pm #31785kinda knew what Piscotty was going to do.
Just assume Grichuk is a K anytime he comes up. This team strikes out far to often.
August 27, 2017 at 4:56 pm #31786One day closer to the start of Blues getting back on the ice.
August 27, 2017 at 4:58 pm #31787HR game. We just didn’t have an extra one
Great job by Lynn and Brebbia
Offense didn’t do anything. It’s on them. Wong and Carp tried by Archer was pretty nasty all day.
Morrison just has such an easy swing but big time power to straight away.
Crazy.
Didn’t lose any distance at least.
Take the day off and come back Tuesday. We need to get on a run
Go Cards!
August 27, 2017 at 5:03 pm #31788kinda knew what Piscotty was going to do.

Yep, neither guy seems to have any idea what kind of pitch they are swinging at. Piscotty’s last strike was with his head pulled off at least 90 degrees from where it should be directed and his eyes were closed…maybe he was in the middle of an untimely blink, but it looked bad.
August 27, 2017 at 6:18 pm #31789People act like Grichuk strikes out all the time. What bull crap.Yes he fans a lot but he also has 42 XBH of his 82 Hits.Everybody whines about the offense all the time and then they proceed to rip Grichuk every time. There were 8 other guys hitting out there the whole game who failed multiple times to produce runs.Even The great Tommy Pham failed also.Spread the venom around boys Grichuk played very little part in today’s loss.
August 27, 2017 at 6:25 pm #31790Another ugly loss, this time extra innings at home. 2-4 on this home stand at the same time they’re trying to make us believe they still have a chance. Mo — give me a reason to go another home game this year because I can’t think of one.
August 27, 2017 at 6:26 pm #31791BW52 if you look above I said this entire team strikes out to much. It was 14 times today which means that is 14 times no one in the field has to do a damn thing. That said, when Grichuk came up against a guy with a good slider I knew what was coming. He can’t lay off the pitch low and outside. I hope this off season he and all the others on the roster that try to pull everything work on pitch recognition and start working on going the other way on the pitches that need to have that happen.
