For what it’s worth I don’t think it is a slam dunk that Wieters beats out Pena for the backup C job. Wieters may be the favorite but it wouldn’t shock me if Pena went north. I base that mainly on the defensive advantage Pena has. The gap between the two offensively may have been overstated.
