I did not like trading Palacios for a bullpen piece at all. You could see that Richie had something – athleticism and a live bat. But Kittredge has been good, and had Carlson not gone down the deal might not have been quite so troublesome.
Again, as GM I would have not made that deal. I would have done it for Burleson, but not for Palacios.
Mo did a good job for a long time. Made a mistake here and there and I think he tends to value non-baseball traits a little too much in making deals. But it seems the last few years most of his decisions have gone wrong, whether extending guys or making trades.
