Results from games played Friday, September 23.

The Memphis Redbirds were edged by the Gwinnett Stripers (Atl), 4-3, Friday night at AutoZone Park. Starter Tommy Parsons pitched six innings, gave up four runs on five hits, fanned seven and walked three. Parsons took the loss, his fourth of the season.
Zach McAllister threw two scoreless innings of relief. Genesis Cabrera tossed a scoreless ninth.
The game was scoreless for the first four and a half innings. In the home fifth, Moises Gomez blasted a two-run home run to give Memphis the lead. It was the right-fielder’s MiLB-leading 38th of the season between Double-A and Triple-A and is the most by a Cardinals minor leaguer since at least 1960.
