The St. Louis Cardinals system was 4-1 on Saturday. The Cardinals Nation’s Player of the Day is Palm Beach catcher Chase Adkison, who was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three RBI. Other standouts include Nathan Church, Sem Robberse, Mike Antico, Michael Curialle, Inohan Paniagua, and Nelfy Ynfante.

The Memphis Redbirds (27-23) held onto the win against the Durham Bulls (20-30, TBR) on Saturday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Starter Sem Robberse threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits while walking three and striking out six.

A two-RBI single from the Bulls in the sixth tied the game at two apiece.

Jacob Bosiokovic allowed an RBI groundout after Connor Thomas allowed the first batter of the inning to get on base.
Thomas threw 1 1/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit to earn his second win this season. Bosiokovic threw one scoreless inning, yielding two walks and striking out one. Kolton Ingram pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first save this season, giving up a walk while striking out two. Memphis allowed three runs on four hits while walking six and striking out nine.
Koperniak went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI, and a run scored. Dunn hit 2-for-4 with two RBI. The Redbirds totaled four runs on four hits with five walks and eight strikeouts.
Sunday’s game: at Durham, RHP Gordon Graceffo (4-4, 3.88) vs. Angel Sánchez RHP (1-0, 0.00) 4:05 CT.
The Springfield Cardinals (25-19) won a close game against the Tulsa Drillers (19-24, LAD) 8-7 on Saturday at Hammons Field. Starter Wilfredo Pereira earned his first win this season, throwing five innings, and allowing three runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out three.
Nathan Church struck first with an RBI groundout in the first.
The Drillers responded in the second with an RBI single to tie the game at one apiece.
Tulsa added pressure with a two-RBI single in the top of the third. The Cardinals responded with a two-run moonshot from Mike Antico and a two-RBI double from Noah Mendlinger to give Springfield a 5-3 lead.

Nathan Church’s two-RBI double in the fourth and Chandler Redmond’s RBI single in the fifth added three insurance runs and extended their lead to 8-3.

An RBI forceout and a sacrifice fly in the seventh allowed the Driller to claw back into the game.
An RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the ninth brought the Drillers to within one, but they could not catch the Cardinals.
Benito Garcia threw 1 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits while walking one and striking out two. Felix Taveras threw two innings, yielding two runs, one earned on one hit while walking one. Matt Svanson earned his sixth save this season, pitching 2/3 of an inning, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out one. Springfield allowed seven runs on 10 hits while walking three and striking out six.
Nathan Church hit 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored. Antico was 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored. Mendlinger went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. The Cardinals totaled eight runs on 13 hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts.
Sunday’s game: vs. Tulsa, RHP Trent Baker (2-2, 6.59) vs. Kendall Williams RHP (1-5, 8.63) 6:05 CT.
On Saturday, The Peoria Chiefs (15-29) defeated the Cedar Rapids Kernels (27-16, MIN) 6-2 at Dozer Park. Starter Inohan Paniagua threw six innings, allowing a run on four hits while walking one and striking out four.
Michael Curialle led off the second inning with a solo bomb to left-center field.

The Chiefs extended their lead with Brody Moore’s RBI single in the fifth.

The Kernels earned one back in the sixth with a solo shot to cut Peoria’s lead in half.
Nathanael Heredia was brought in to replace Paniagua in the seventh and he allowed an RBI single that tied the game at two apiece.
Darlin Moquete gave Peoria the lead again with an RBI single and Joshua Baez’s three-run blast to center field extended their lead to 6-2.

Curialle went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Baez hit 1-for-3 with a homer, three RBI, and a run scored. The Chiefs totaled six runs on nine hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Heredia threw 1/3 of an inning, yielding one run on three hits while walking and striking out one. Tyler Bradt earned his second win this season, giving up no runs on one hit while striking out two. Tanner Jacobson pitched one inning, allowing no runs or hits while walking one and striking out two. Peoria yielded two runs on eight hits while walking three and striking out nine.
Sunday’s game: vs. Cedar Rapids, LHP Cooper Hjerpe (0-2, 4.21) vs. Jeremy Lee RHP 6:35 CT.
The Palm Beach Cardinals (25-19) fell to the Lakeland Flying Tigers (28-16, DET) 8-3 on Saturday at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. Starter Chen-Wei Lin took his third loss this season, throwing 3 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs, six earned, on eight hits while walking four and striking out one.
An RBI single and a two-RBI single in the first gave the Flying Tigers a 3-0 lead.
The Cardinals responded in the top of the fourth with an RBI single from Chase Adkison.
Lin’s day on the mound ended in the bottom of the fourth after he allowed two RBI singles and Augusto Calderon was brought in to relieve him. Calderon allowed a runner to score on a wild pitch and walked in a run to give Lakeland a 7-1 lead.
Adkison’s two-RBI double in the top of the eighth made the score 7-3.
A sacrifice fly added a final insurance run for Lakeland in the bottom of the eighth, extending their lead to 8-3.
Calderon threw 2 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on no hits while walking four and striking out two. Ettore Giulianelli threw 1 1/3 innings, yielding no runs on one hit while walking three and striking out two. Yordy Herrera pitched 1 2/3 innings, giving up one run on no hits while walking three and striking out three. The Cardinals allowed eight runs on nine hits while walking 14 and striking out eight.
Adkison went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three RBI. Miguel Villarroel hit 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Sammy Hernandez was 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once. Palm Beach totaled three runs on seven hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.

FCL Cardinals 7, FCL Marlins 1
The Florida Complex League Cardinals defeated the Marlins 7-1 on Saturday at Roger Dean Stadium Complex. Starter Packy Naughton threw one inning, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out one.
The Cardinals struck first in the second with Alejandro Loaiza’s two-RBI triple and Yancel Guerrero’s two-run bomb.
The Marlins earned one run back with an RBI single in the top of the fifth.
A wild pitch from the Marlins pitcher allowed Samil De La Rosa to come home and an RBI double from Yordalin Pena extended the Cardinals lead to 6-1.
Yaisel Ramos’s RBI single in the eighth added an insurance run to make the score 7-1.
Pena went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Loaiza hit 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and scored once. Guerrero was 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, and a run scored. The Cardinals totaled seven runs on six hits with three walks and 13 strikeouts.
Nelfy Ynfante threw five innings, allowing one run, none earned on three hits while striking out six to earn his second win this season. Samuel Fabian pitched 2 1/3 innings, yielding no runs on three hits while striking out four. The Cardinals gave up one run, none earned, on seven hits while walking none and striking out 11.
The FCL Cardinals are off on Sundays.
