The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-4 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis RF Joshua Baez, hit four home runs with seven RBI. Other standouts include Ryan Weingartner, Cade Crossland, Yairo Padilla and J.P. Cabrera.

The Triple-A Redbirds pounded the Sounds by a 12-5 score at AutoZone Park on Tuesday.
Starter Quinn Mathews pitched five innings, gave up three runs on two hits, walked four and fanned five to earn his fourth win.
Luis Gastelum relieved Mathews and threw a scoreless sixth. Skylar Hales surrendered two runs in the final two innings.
Memphis went up 3-0 in the first inning. Victor Scott and César Prieto singled. Joshua Báez followed with a three-run home run.
Nashville scored two runs in the second to cut the lead to 3-2.
The Redbirds added two runs in the third to increase the lead to 5-2. Thomas Saggese singled. Báez hit a two-run home run.
The Sounds shrank the lead to 5-3 with a run in the top of the fifth.
Memphis answered with three runs in the home fifth to extend the lead to 8-3. César Prieto and Báez hit solo home runs. Leo Bernal walked and later scored on a balk.
In the seventh, the Redbirds increased the lead to 11-3. Bernal and Yohel Pozo singled. Bligh Madris walked. Jeremy Rivas doubled to plate Bernal and Pozo. Madris came home on a sac fly by Scott.
Nashville put up a run in the top of the eighth to make it 11-4.
Memphis responded with their 12th run in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run by Báez.
One homer? Cool.

The Sounds added their final run in the ninth for a final score of 12-5.
The offense scored 12 runs on 13 hits. Báez was 4-for-6 with seven RBI and four home runs. Scott was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Prieto was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Pozo was 2-for-5. Rivas had two RBI. Bernal scored two runs.
Scott stole his second base for Memphis.
Memphis is 44-26 on the season and is in first place in the International League.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Nashville, RHP Tink Hence (0-1, 7.15) opening for RHP Bruce Zimmermann (5-3, 4.26) vs. LHP Thomas Pannone (5-3, 4.26), 12:05 p.m.
The Double-A Cardinals fell to the Wind Surge in Wichita by the score of 7-3 on Tuesday. Starter Liam Doyle pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up four runs on three hits, walked four and fanned four. Doyle took the loss.
Andrew Schultz relieved Doyle and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Edwin Nuñez surrendered three runs in the seventh. Michael Watson tossed a scoreless eighth.
Wichita went up 2-0 in the third inning.
The Cardinals scored their first run in the top of the fifth. In his first Double-A game, Tre Richardson reached on an error and advanced to second. Dakota Harris plated Richardson on a single.
The Wind Surge added two runs in the home fifth to extend their lead to 4-1. They made it 7-1 in the seventh.
Springfield added two runs in the eighth to shrink the lead to 7-3. Rainiel Rodriguez singled. Ryan Campos followed with a two-run home run.

The Cardinals scored three runs on six hits. Campos had two RBI.
Rodriguez stole his fourth base. Harris swiped his 18th bag. Miguel Villarroel stole his third base.
Jon Jon Gazdar made a fielding error.
Springfield is 27-36 on the season. They are in fourth place in the Texas League North, 15.5 games back of Tulsa.

The High-A Chiefs lost to the Dragons by an 8-2 score at Dozer Park on Tuesday.
Yhoiker Fajardo pitched five innings, gave up one run on two hits, walked three and fanned six. Fajardo took the tough loss.
Jason Savacool relieved Fajardo and surrendered one run in two innings. Christian Worley yielded two runs in the eighth. Dominic Freeberger relinquished four runs in the ninth.
Dayton took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. They added a run in the top of the seventh to lead 2-0.
Peoria answered in the home seventh with a solo home run by Jalin Flores.

In the top of the eighth, the Dragons extended their lead to 4-1.
The Chiefs scored a run in the bottom of the eighth. Anyelo Encarnacion walked and stole second base. Jack Gurevitch plated Encarnacion on a double.

The Dragons put up four unanswered runs in the ninth and won the game 8-2.
The Chiefs scored two runs on six hits. Won-Bin Cho and José Suárez were both 2-for-4.
Encarnacion stole his seventh base of the season. Cho was caught stealing.
Gurevitch made a throwing error. Savacool made an error on a pickoff attempt.
Peoria is 32-32 on the season. They are in third place in the Midwest League West eight games back of South Bend.

The Beach Birds routed the Hammerheads by a 14-1 score at Roger Dean on Tuesday.
Starter Cade Crossland pitched four innings, gave up one run on one hit, walked one and fanned seven.
Four relievers threw five scoreless frames. Memphis rehabber Victor Santos followed Crossland and threw a scoreless fifth to earn the win. Antoni Cuello hurled a scoreless sixth. Kaden Echeman pitched two scoreless innings. Anthony Watts tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Ryan Mitchell walked and stole second base. Michael Dattalo was hit by a pitch. Mitchell stole third and scored on a throwing error.
In the top of the third, Palm Beach plated two runs to lead 3-0. Dattalo singled. Ryan Weingartner followed with a two-run home run.

Jupiter answered with a run in the home third to cut the lead to 3-1.
In the eighth, the Beach Birds added two runs to increase the lead to 5-1. Weingartner walked and scored on a two-run home run by Brayden Smith.
The Cardinals blew up the score with a nine run-ninth. Deniel Ortiz was hit by a pitch. Mitchell singled. Dattalo drove in Ortiz on a single. Mitchell came home on a single by Weingartner. Smith walked. Matthew Miura walked and Dattalo crossed the plate. Weingartner scored on a wild pitch. Yordalin Peña walked. A wild pitch sent Smith home. Chase Heath doubled to plate Miura and Peña. Sebastian Dos Santos walked. Heath scored on a ground out by Ortiz. Mitchell was hit by a pitch. Dattalo singled to score Dos Santos.
The Cardinals scored 14 runs on nine hits. Weingartner was 2-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Dattalo was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Smith had two RBI and two runs scored. Mitchell scored two runs.
Mitchell stole three bases. Peña swiped his thirteenth bag. Dos Santos stole his first base at Class-A. Ortiz swiped his third bag. Mitchell and Miura were both caught stealing.
The Cardinals are 32-32 on the season. They are in second place in the Florida State League East, 5 games back of Jupiter.

FCL Cardinals 13, FCL Marlins 19 (eight innings)
The rookie Cardinals fell to the Marlins in a 19-13 slugfest on Tuesday.
Starter Sem Robberse, in his first rehab start from Memphis, pitched one scoreless inning on one hit and one strikeout.
Branneli Franco relieved Robberse and surrendered four runs in 2 2/3 innings. Yordy Herrera yielded one run in 1 1/3 innings. Zeke Wood relinquished three runs in 2/3 of an inning. Brailyn Paulino gave up three runs in 1 1/3 innings. Owen Rice allowed six runs, five earned, without recording an out. Jarol Baéz gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning. Ironically, the only Cardinal “pitcher” to be unscored upon was outfielder Andru Arthur, who collected the final two outs of the eighth.
The Marlins went up 2-0 in the second inning.
The Cardinals answered with four runs in the home second to take the lead. Miguel Hernandez walked. Kenly Hunter was hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Hernandez scored on a sac fly by J.P. Cabrera. Bracewell Taveras walked. In his first rehab game from Palm Beach, Yairo Padilla hit a three-run home run.

The Cardinals added three runs in the third to lead 7-2. Alex Birge walked. Cristofer Lebrón singled. Lebrón stole second. Birge scored on a balk. Hunter reached on a fielder’s choice. Lebrón was thrown out at home. Hunter advanced on a balk. Royelny Strop walked. Hunter and Strop advanced on a balk. Cabrera doubled to plate Hunter and Strop.
The Marlins brought home two runs in the fourth and one in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 7-5.
The Cardinals scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 10-5. Strop singled. Cabrera walked. Padilla walked. Ian Petrutz, on a rehab assignment from Peoria, reached on catcher interference. Stop scored. Cabrera came home on a passed ball. Padilla scored on a wild pitch.
In the sixth, the Marlins put up three runs to shrink the lead to 10-8. They made it 11-10 with a three-run top of the seventh.
The Cardinals tied the game at 11-11 in the bottom of the inning. Cabrera reached on catcher interference and later scored on a single by Daniel Rojas.
The scheduled seven-inning game went into extra innings. The Marlins posted an eight-run top of the eighth to go ahead 19-11.
The Cardinals put up two runs to bring the final score to 19-13. Paulo Asprilla starter the inning on second base. Lebrón plated Asprilla on a double. Miguel Hernandez singled. Cabrera reached on catcher interference. Taveras walked and Lebrón scored.
The Cardinals scored 13 runs on seven hits. Lebrón was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Padilla and Cabrera each had three RBI and scored two runs. Strop and Hunter both scored two runs.
The Cardinals are 10-19 on the season. They are in last place in the FCL East, 13.5 games back of FCL Houston.

DSL Cardinals 3 at DSL Tigers1 9 (seven innings)
The Dominican Cardinals lost to the Tigers by a 9-3 score on Tuesday. Starter Juan García pitched three innings, gave up five runs, three earned, on six hits and struck out one. García took the loss.
Jordan Beltrán surrendered three runs in two innings of relief. Andey Garrido yielded one run in the sixth.
The Tigers went up 5-0 in the second inning.
The Cardinals scored one run in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-1. Christopher Vargas doubled. Misael Sánchez walked. Vargas advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sac fly by Jesús Pérez.
The Cardinals added a run in the top of the fifth to shrink the lead to 5-2. Diego Conseción walked and advanced to second on a force out by Yeferson Portolatin. Sebastian Rojas doubled to plate Conseción.
The Tigers added three runs in the home fifth and another in the sixth to make it 9-2.
The Cardinals scored one more run in the seventh for the final score of 9-3.
The Cardinals scored three runs on seven hits. Vargas was 2-for-4.
Portolatin made a throwing error. Christian Sáez had a fielding miscue. Sánchez had an outfield assist at home plate.
The Cardinals are 7-5 on the season and are in second place in the DSL Southeast.
