The St. Louis Cardinals system went 3-3 on Thursday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Florida Complex League CF Jose Cordoba, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. Other standouts include Moisés Gómez, Edgar Manzo and Yancel Guerrero.

Memphis 7 at Durham 8 (10 innings)
The Memphis Redbirds (44-37) fell to the Durham Bulls (TB, 44-37) in extra innings at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Steven Matz started on a rehab assignment from St. Louis. The left-hander tossed 3 1/3 innings with two runs yielded on two hits, one walk and four strikeouts.
Regular starter Connor Thomas relieved Matz and threw four innings with three runs surrendered. The lefty fanned seven in his outing. Zach McAllister gave up a run in 1/3 of an inning.
After the Bulls scored two in the fourth, The Redbirds were trading runs with the opposition from the sixth through 10th innings. In the seventh, Moisés Gómez hit a solo shot, his 25th of the season and second in Memphis. Luken Baker hit a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead until the Bulls responded with one in the home half.

Scott Hurst hit a two-run home run in the eighth but the Bulls scored three in the bottom half after two walks and two hit by pitches from McAllister. Memphis responded in the top of the ninth after Pedro Pages hit a solo shot to tie the game 6-6.
In the 10th, Ben DeLuzio brought in Delvin Pérez via sacrifice fly but the Bulls won the game in the bottom half.
Freddy Pacheco threw a scoreless 1 1/3 innings. Grant Black was charged with two runs, one earned, on two hits in the 10th inning and took the loss.
Pages had three hits and a solo homer. Gómez went 2-for-3 with two walks and a home run. Baker and Evan Mendoza also had two hits. Gómez still leads the MiLB in home runs with 25 between Springfield and Memphis.
Corey Dickerson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a rehab assignment.
Gómez and Pérez both stole a bag and Mendoza was picked off.
Friday’s game: at Durham, RHP Angel Rondon (3-1, 4.04) vs. RHP Kevin Gerget, 5:35 CT
Springfield 6 at Arkansas 5 (10 innings)
The Springfield Cardinals (4-5, second half) were walked off by the Arkansas Travelers (SEA, 6-3) on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.
Gordon Graceffo tossed 5 1/3 innings with four runs yielded on six hits and three walks. The right-hander fanned five. Tyler Pike gave up one run on three hits and three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
By the sixth inning, the Cardinals were down 5-0 but staged a late comeback. In the eighth, Malcom Nunez cleared the loaded bases to make it a two-run deficit. Nick Raposo and Justin Toerner both scored in the ninth to tie the game at 5-5.
In his first game for Springfield, Leonardo Taveras threw a scoreless 1 2/3 innings with one strikeout and three walks. Dalton Roach surrendered the game-winning run in the 10th inning and took his sixth loss.
The lineup went 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position and struck out 13 times. Raposo recorded the only multi-hit game with two. Nunez went 1-for-3 with two walks and three RBI.
Mike Antico and Nunez both stole a base.
Friday’s game: at Arkansas, RHP Kyle Leahy (4-6, 6.04) vs. RHP Levi Stoudt (6-4, 4.81) 7:05 CT
The Peoria Chiefs (4-8, 2H) topped the Beloit Sky Carp (MIA, 6-6) at Dozer Park on Thursday.
Edgar Manzo threw a no-hitter into the sixth inning but surrendered a solo home run in the seventh. The right-hander struck out five and earned his first win in Peoria. Gianluca Dalatri pitched three hitless innings with six strikeouts and saved his fourth game.
In the first inning, Jacob Buchberger hit a solo home run, his second of the year. The second baseman came across on an error in the fourth inning. Brady Whalen scored Todd Lott in the fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead before the Sky Carp hit a solo home run in the seventh.
Buchberger went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Manzo and Dalatri struck out a combined 11 batters and gave up only one hit.
Buchberger and Tyler Reichenborn both stole a bag.
Friday’s game: vs. Beloit, RHP Austin Love (4-7, 6.72) vs. LHP Dax Fulton (2-5, 5.16) 6:35 CT
The Palm Beach Cardinals (9-3, 2H) were edged by the Jupiter Hammerheads (MIA, 5-7) at Roger Dean Stadium on Thursday.
Carlos Guarate took his second loss after yielding two runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. Jose Moreno threw two innings with two runs surrendered on four hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Andrew Marrero pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning.
Adanson Cruz scored on a wild pitch in the sixth but the Hammerheads scored four runs in the next three innings. The Beach Birds tried to stage a ninth-inning comeback but fell short. Elijah Cabell hit a two-run home run but the Cardinals could not get any more across.
The lineup recorded only four hits and went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Cabell came in as a pinch hitter in the ninth and hit a two-run homer.
Cruz recorded an outfield assist in the first inning and Aaron McKeithan was picked off.

FCL Cardinals 9 at FCL Astros Orange 3
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (9-12) topped the Astros Orange (11-9) on Thursday at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. Starter Yonael Dominguez tossed five innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits and no walks. The right-hander fanned five and earned his second win.
The Cardinals scored four runs in the first two innings. Fernando Diaz plated two and Samil De La Rosa drove in one with a double in the first. Romtres Cabrera came across in the second on a stolen base attempt and an interference error by the third baseman. Jose Cordoba hit a three-run shot in the fourth inning, his third of the year.
In the sixth, Cordoba scored on an error for the second time. Carlos Linarez hit a solo shot, his first of the season.
Wilmer Ortega surrendered an unearned run on two hits in the sixth inning. Edwin Nunez and Brayan Ramirez both tossed a scoreless inning. Randel Clemente closed out the game with a hitless frame.
The lineup went 3-for-10 with runners in scoring position and struck out 12 times but found a way to win. Cordoba went 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Lizandro Espinoza, Fernando Diaz, Romtres Cabrera and Linarez all recorded two hits.
Cabrera stole two bags and Cordoba took one.
In the field, Diaz, Espinoza and Raul Guzman all committed an error.

DSL Cardinals 18, DSL Giants Black 4
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals (12-13) destroyed the Giants (10-13) on Thursday and was highlighted by an 11-run sixth inning.
Nelfy Ynfante tossed five innings and surrendered one run on three hits and four walks. The 17-year-old fanned seven and earned his third win.
Yancel Guerrero plated two in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Yordalin Pena and Justin Guerrero both scored on errors.
The Cardinals scored 11 runs in the sixth. Anyelo Encarnacion tripled to score one and Jonathan Mejia brought a run across. Maycol Justo and Mejia both scored on an error. Pena came across on a wild pitch and Carlos Carmona drove in one. Yaisel Ramos scored on an error and another wild pitch scored Carmona. Justo plated one and Pena cleared the loaded bases with a triple.
Jovi Galvez tossed a scoreless sixth inning. Bruno Lopez gave up three runs, one earned, on five hits and two walks in three innings.
Two more wild pitches scored Batista and Carmona in the seventh to make it an 18-1 game.
The Giants committed four errors and seven wild pitches. With the 18 runs that came across, the lineup drove in 10 of them. Yancel Guerrero and Pena both drove in three runs and Ramos came across three times. Every starter in the game scored at least once.
Batista stole his first bag of the year.
Mejia, Justin Guerrero and Pena each committed an error. Carmona recorded an outfield assist.
