The St. Louis Cardinals system went 1-3 on Thursday with Palm Beach taking the only win. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Jeremy Rivas, who recorded a walk-off single for the Beach Birds. Other standouts include Zach McAllister, Jonah Davis and Osvaldo Tovalin.

The Memphis Redbirds (42-33) fell to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (MIA, 40-35) at AutoZone Park on Thursday.
Starter Garrett Williams tossed four innings with four runs given up. The left-hander surrendered every run on the long ball and took his first loss. Zach McAllister pitched a perfect two innings with four strikeouts.
The only Redbird run came from Cory Spangenberg, who hit a solo home run in the third.

Freddy Pacheco threw two innings and Kyle Ryan tossed the ninth. Pacheco had a scoreless outing and Ryan yielded a solo homer.
The lineup went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position and had only three hits. Pedro Pages struck out three times. Every run in the game was scored via home run.

The Springfield Cardinals (32-40) lost to the Wichita Wind Surge (MIN, 37-34) after a late comeback attempt.
Michael McGreevy threw 6 1/3 innings with four runs surrendered on six hits and two walks. TCN’s no. 7 prospect fanned six in his seventh game for Springfield.
After the Wind Surge scored one in the first, Malcom Nunez hit a solo homer in the second to tie the game. Springfield scored three more over the fifth and sixth innings. Nick Dunn hit an RBI single in the fifth and Jonah Davis doubled in the sixth to plate two.

Dalton Roach pitched 2 2/3 innings and yielded three runs. The right-hander took his fifth loss of the season.
In the ninth, the Cardinals attempted a comeback. Davis blasted a two-run shot to bring the deficit to one. Jordan Walker walked with two outs but Chandler Redmond struck out to end the game.

The lineup went 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position and struck out 13 times. Redmond struck out four times in five at-bats. Davis recorded four RBI and Nunez had two hits.
Masyn Winn stole his sixth bag and the defense turned three double plays.
Friday’s game: vs. Wichita, RHP Gordon Graceffo (3-1, 3.31) vs. RHP Sawyer Gipson-Long (1-2, 5.52) 7:05 CT
The Peoria Chiefs (28-44) were topped by the Quad Cities River Bandits (KC, 29-43) at Modern Woodmen Park on Thursday.
Dionys Rodriguez pitched a quality six innings with one run given up on six hits. The right-hander struck out seven batters.
In the sixth, Osvaldo Tovalin hit his second homer for Peoria to tie the game.
Newly signed Chris Roycroft surrendered three runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk. The 25-year-old could not make an out. Andre Granillo threw two scoreless innings and fanned three batters.
Tovalin singled in the eighth to drive in Mack Chambers. Thomas Francisco scored a run via sacrifice fly in the ninth but the Chiefs could not get anymore across.
Tovalin and L.J. Jones both recorded multi-hit games. Mike Antico went 1-for-2 with two walks and a double. The lineup went 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
Todd Lott and Antico both recorded outfield assists.
Friday’s game: at Quad Cities, RHP Dionys Rodriguez (1-8, 5.31) vs. RHP William Fleming (0-0, 0.00) 6:30 CT
Palm Beach 3, Daytona 2 (10 innings)
The Palm Beach Cardinals (35-35) beat the Daytona Tortugas (CIN, 31-40) in the 10th inning on Thursday. Jeremy Rivas hit the walk-off for the Beach Birds.
Carlos Guarate threw a scoreless five innings with three hits and four strikeouts. Jose Moreno surrendered a run and struck out five in three innings.
Patrick Romeri singled to bring in Elijah Cabell in the fourth inning. After a tie game in the ninth, the game went into extra innings.
Gustavo Rodriguez yielded an unearned run in the 10th inning. After Matt Chamberlain doubled, Rivas drove in Sander Mora and Chamberlain to win the game.
Even though the Beach Birds struck out 13 times, they found a way to win. Rivas and Romeri both recorded two hits and the only RBI.
Friday’s game: vs. Daytona, RHP Bryan Pope (0-1, 4.20) vs. RHP Hunter Parks (3-1, 3.74) 5:30 CT
FCL Cardinals, FCL Mets (Postponed)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (7-9) and Mets (11-6) contest has been postponed due to rain and will be made up on July 12th.
Friday’s game: vs. FCL Nationals, TBA vs. TBA 11:00 CT
DSL Cardinals 4, DSL Angels 7 (Suspended in the 2nd inning)
Due to rain, the Dominican Summer League Cardinals (8-10) and Angels (10-9) contest has been suspended and will be completed on July 4th.
Cardinal starter Ronny Oliver surrendered six runs and could not make an out. Diego Dominguez came in relief and yielded a run in two innings.
In the first, Yaisel Ramos drove in a run and Yordalin Pena tripled to plate two. Jonathan Mejia singled in the second to score one.
The game was suspended after the first out in the second inning. The contest will be resumed on July 4th and the Cardinals will have two runners on base.
