The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-2 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield starter Brycen Mautz, pitched six scoreless innings with a season-high 10 punchouts. Other standouts include Max Rajcic, Josh Kross and Braden Davis.

The Triple-A Redbirds were blanked by the Bulls by a 4-0 score at AutoZone Park on Friday.
Starter Max Rajcic pitched six scoreless innings, allowed three hits, struck out three and walked two.
Jack Ralston relieved Rajcic, surrendered the first three runs of the game in the seventh and took the loss. Zack Weiss yielded one run in the eighth to make it 4-0. Osvaldo Berrios tossed a scoreless ninth.
Memphis scattered four hits. César Prieto was 2-for-3. His double was the only extra base hit. José Fermín and Matt Koperniak singled. The offense was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.
Fermín stole his 20th base of the season.
Memphis is 59-51 overall, 18-19 in the second half. They are 11 games back of IL leader Syracuse.

Springfield 2 at San Antonio 0
The Double-A Cardinals blanked the Missions on the road by the score of 2-0 on Friday.
Starter Brycen Mautz pitched six scoreless innings, allowed one hit, fanned 10 and walked two to earn his fifth win.

Out of the pen, Tyler Bradt, Hunter Hayes and Luis Gastelum tossed a scoreless inning each as Gastelum earned his sixth save.
Springfield went up 2-0 in the second inning. Ramon Mendoza walked. Trey Paige forced Mendoza out at second. Miguel Ugueto singled. Brody Moore walked. Darlin Moquete reached on a fielder’s choice as Paige scored and Ugueto also came home on a fielding error.
The Cardinals scored their two runs on six hits, all singles. No Cardinal had multiples.
Leonardo Bernal stole his 11th base of the season. Joshua Baez swiped his 24th bag.
Springfield is 67-39 overall, 24-13 in the second half and is in first place in the Texas League North.

The High-A Chiefs blanked the Timber Rattlers in a 7-0 rout on Friday at Dozer Park.
Starter Braden Davis pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Davis allowed one hit, struck out four and walked six to earn his second High-A win.
Jawilme Ramirez relieved Davis and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Mason Burns tossed a scoreless ninth.
Peoria went up 3-0 in the second inning. Travis Honeyman and Josh Kross singled. Ian Petrutz reached on a fielder’s choice and all runners were safe on a throwing error. Honeyman scored on a passed ball. Brayden Jobert doubled to plate Kross and Petrutz.

The Chiefs went up 4-0 in the fifth on a solo home run by Zach Levenson. Josh Kross’ solo home run in the sixth widened the lead to 5-0.
Peoria extended their lead to 7-0 in the eighth. Deniel Ortiz singled. Honeyman walked. Ortiz scored on a balk. Kross tripled to plate Honeyman.

The offense scored seven runs on nine hits. Kross was 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. Levenson was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ortiz was 2-for-4. Jobert had two RBI. Honeyman scored two runs.
On the bases, Levenson was caught stealing. On defense, Honeyman had an outfield assist at third base.
Peoria is 43-62 overall, 17-23 in the second half, and is fifth place in the Midwest League West, 5.5 games back of Beloit.

Palm Beach 2 at Dunedin 8 (seven innings, game one)
The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Blue Jays by an 8-2 score in the first of a road twin bill. Starter Jacob Odle pitched two innings, gave up four runs on four hits, struck out three and walked three. Odle took the loss.
Alan Reyes relieved Odle and surrendered three runs in two innings. Sam Brodersen yielded one run in the final two innings.
The Beach Birds took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Jack Gurevitch doubled and later scored on a wild pitch.
Dunedin took a 4-1 lead in the second. Palm Beach answered with a run in the third. Sammy Hernandez walked and stole second base. Rainiel Rodriguez singled to score Hernandez.
After a long rain delay in the third inning, the Blue Jays widened their lead to 8-2 with a four-run fifth.
The Cardinals scored two runs on four hits. Gurevitch was 2-for-3.
On the bases, Hernandez stole his 10th base of the season. On defense, Rodriguez picked a runner off third base.
Palm Beach is 51-53 on the season, 19-20 in the second half, and is in second place in the FSL East, nine games behind St. Lucie.
Palm Beach at Dunedin (game two postponed)
Friday’s Game 2 at Dunedin was not played due to weather. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 9th starting at 4 p.m. ET with Game 2 to follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. Both will be seven innings.

DSL Cardinals 8, DSL Tigers 1 6 (seven innings)
The Cardinals beat the Tigers 1 by an 8-6 score on Friday. Starter Xavier Cruz pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up one run on two hits, fanned four and walked four.
Beiker Rodriguez relieved Cruz and surrendered two runs, one earned, in 1 1/3 innings and earned the win. Ricardo Fernandez yielded two runs in 1/3 of an inning. Jarol Baez threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Jesus Garcia allowed one run in the final 1 1/3 innings but still received his second save.
The Cardinals went up 3-0 in the first inning. Yeferson Portolatin walked and stole second. Cristofer Lebron walked. Sebastian Dos Santos was hit by a pitch. Juan Pablo Cabrera walked and Portolatin scored. Brayan Amoroso singled to plate Lebron and Dos Santos.
The Tigers scored one run in the top of the second. The Cardinals answered with a run in the home second to extend the lead to 4-1. Lucas Takahashi walked and stole second base. Portolatin reached on a fielder’s choice with Takahashi out at third. Juan Rujano drove in Portolatin on a double.
The Cardinals made it 5-1 in the third. Dos Santos walked and later scored on a throwing error. The Tigers put up two runs in the top of the fourth to shrink the lead to 5-3.
Thanks to wildness by Tigers pitching, the Cardinals added three runs without a hit in the home fourth to widen the lead to 8-3. Lebron walked. Dos Santos was hit by a pitch. Cabrera walked. Lebron came home on a wild pitch. Michael Cordero walked. Takahashi walked and Dos Santos scored. Cabrera scored on a walk by Kenly Hunter.
The Tigers added two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to bring the final score to 8-6.
The Cardinals scored eight runs on just three hits. Amoroso had two RBI. Portolatin and Lebron each scored two runs. Dos Santos scored three runs.
In this walkathon, both staffs issued exactly 13 free passes. Takahashi and Cabrera drew three each.
Portolatin stole his 17th base of the season. Takahashi swiped his second bag. On defense, Portolatin made a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 26-22 on the season and are in second place in the DSL Southeast, five games back of the Marlins.
