The Salt River Rafters lost to the Surprise Saguaros Thursday afternoon. Masyn Winn, Jordan Walker and Pedro Pages started and Kyle Leahy and Tink Hence pitched in relief. Pages homered and Hence tossed a scoreless inning.

Salt River 6, Surprise 8 (7 innings)
In a seven-inning contest on Thursday afternoon, the Salt River Rafters (0-4) fell to the Surprise Saguaros (3-1) at Salt River Fields. Six Cardinals received playing time.
Designated hitter Masyn Winn was in the leadoff spot. He went 0-for-4 and left four runners on base. The 20-year-old grounded out twice, flied out and popped out.
Jordan Walker started in center field and also went 0-for-4. TCN’s no. 1 prospect struck out twice and left three runners on base.
Kyle Leahy tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief and surrendered two runs in the fourth inning. The right-hander fanned three batters.

In his AFL debut, Tink Hence threw a 1-2-3 fifth inning. The right-hander threw both his fastball and sinker at 97 mph.
In the second inning, Pedro Pages doubled to score a run but was stranded on third. The catcher blasted a solo homer in the sixth inning, his first in AFL play.

Mike Antico pinch ran in the seventh inning but was stranded on first.
Kansas City right fielder Tyler Gentry blasted two home runs and drove in three of the eight Saguaros runs. The Rafters attempted to come back in the ninth but Pages lined out to center field to end the club’s fourth consecutive loss.
