Cardinals Arizona Fall League Notebook – October 14, 2022

The Salt River Rafters win streak is two as they topped the Peoria Javelinas on Thursday afternoon. Cardinal Mike Antico stole a bag and scored and Masyn Winn was the winning run. Kyle Leahy struggled on the mound.

Results from the Arizona Fall League game played Thursday, October 13th.

Salt River 7, Peoria 6 (7 innings)

In a seven-inning contest, the Salt River Rafters (2-8) walked off the Peoria Javelinas (6-4) at Salt River Fields. Three of the eight Cardinals played.

Kyle Leahy entered in relief in the fourth inning and surrendered four runs. The right-hander yielded four hits, three walks and three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings, raising his AFL ERA to 19.50.

In the sixth, Mike Antico pinch ran. TCN’s no. 33 prospect stole second base, his first in the AFL. He scored after a single from Colorado’s Zac Veen and took over defensively in center field.

Masyn Winn was brought in to pinch run as well and came across as the walk off run on a double in the seventh inning.

Rockies catcher Braxton Fulford recorded the game-winning hit.

The Rafters went 4-for-10 with runners in scoring position and stole four bases. They are on a two-game winning streak after eight consecutive losses to start the AFL schedule.
