Two St. Louis Cardinals prospects saw action in Wednesday afternoon’s loss by Salt River.

Catcher Pedro Pages hit seventh in the Rafters lineup. In his first plate appearance in the second inning, Pages reached on an error but was left stranded. In the fourth inning, he grounded out to the shortstop.

Pages drew a walk in the sixth inning but was once again left stranded. In the eighth he flew out to center field. Pages is batting .189 in 37 at-bats.

Defensively, Pages (and his pitchers) were victimized by five steals in five attempts, though the catcher tagged out a runner at home on a throw from the left fielder.

Tink Hence came in to pitch the eighth. The right hander struck out the first hitter, then walked the second. He got the final two outs of the inning on a fly out to left field, and a ground out covered by Hence to the first baseman covering. Hence lowered his AFL ERA to 1.23.
