The Salt River Rafters beat the Scottsdale Scorpions on Monday afternoon. Connor Thomas struck out seven, Jordan Walker doubled and homered and Mike Antico drove in a run and stole three bags. Masyn Winn had two hits and Ryan Loutos added a clean relief inning.

The Salt River Rafters (11-13) defeated the Scottsdale Scorpions (11-12) at Scottsdale Stadium on Monday. Five of the eight AFL Cardinals appeared.
Starter Connor Thomas tossed five innings and surrendered two runs, one earned, on five hits. The left-hander fanned seven and walked none. He threw 51 of his 72 pitches for strikes.
Masyn Winn started at second base and went 2-for-5. TCN’s no. 2 prospect singled in the third and seventh innings. The 20-year-old has a .320 average in the desert.
TCN’s no. 1 prospect, Jordan Walker, blasted a solo shot in the second inning, his fifth in the AFL. He also doubled in the fourth and came across to score. Walker went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
Center fielder Mike Antico recorded two hits. He doubled in the fourth inning to score a run and singled in the seventh. The 24-year-old stole three bases in the contest.
Ryan Loutos came in relief in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless frame. TCN’s no. 47 prospect surrendered a hit but struck out a batter.
The Rafters had seven hits, four walks and six stolen bases. They went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position but the pitching held the Scorpions to three runs. The Rafters have won their last two games.
