The St. Louis Cardinals system has a league-wide Player of the Week for the period of June 6-12.

Peoria outfielder Mike Antico is the Midwest League Player of the Week. The 24-year-old batted .435 (10-for-23) and led all Midwest League hitters in hits, runs (7), home runs (3), total bases (23) and OPS (1.500). The left-handed hitter tied his career-best by hitting those home runs in three straight games.

For the season, Antico is one off a share of the league lead with his 27 stolen bases. The Cardinals’ eighth-round draft pick in 2021 from the University of Texas was The Cardinal Nation’s choice as Rookie Player of the Year in the system last season.

The Cardinals system has no other league Player or Pitcher of the Week honorees for the June 6-12 period.
