Sounds like an evil genius trick.

It is unfortunate that the Cubs and Brewers are fighting it out for the Division championship. That means that they will throw every resource against the Cardinals while the Phillies and Nationals will be much less motivated against Colorado. Not that the Cubs or Brewers would back off against the Cardinals in any event.

It would be nice if Colorado could lose a few games. Their +1 run differential suggests that their luck should run out any day now.

As for the Cards, seems like the Cards have hit Anderson well so it would have been nice to face him. Hopefully the Cards can score off the Brewer bullpen and Jack has a good outing.

Is Anderson going to miss the entire series or start on Tuesday or Wed.?

Anderson might appear tonight. Reading this literally, Jennings will only get one out (thought it was probably not intended to read that way).

I would much rather have O’Neill in RF, Martinez at 1B, Carpenter at 3B, and Gyorko at 2B when Kolten Wong is out.

Defensively O’Neill > Martinez and Gyorko > Munoz is worth Carpenter < Gyorko and Martinez < Carpenter and, offensively, O’Neill > Munoz.

Martinez is better in RF than at 1B. Still I agree O’Neill should be playing but he won’t because Martinez is a butcher at 1B and Munoz needs all the help he can get.

Why isn’t Bader batting higher against the lefty? Where his numbers are better. I mean I guess he could hit the 7th spot in the order but It’s likely they may not face each other if this is a 1 inning outing.

Plenty of time for a cold drink, CRS4E. The Brewers are on track to use 27 pitchers in this game.

P.S. I checked and they have “just” 19!

Jack’s last at bat was interesting too. Clearly didn’t want to bunt on 3rd strike, but Owuendo told him to. Jack threw up his hand in frustration because he wanted to swing away. Don’t know if they caught that on camera.

Nice catch by Martinez. Did not panic and kept the eyes on the ball.
