Because O’Neill is much better defender than Martinez and runs way faster. He can change the game with one swing and his OPS is almost identical to Martinez. .811 to .808 that’s why you put O’Neill over Martinez. The one that I hope is not with the team next year is Martinez.
It’s interesting how opinions can be based on limited knowledge. I am not aware of all of the facts concerning Martinez’ fielding. But:

Prior to his error today, Munoz was fielding 948.Martinez does better at RF than at 1B. I still wouldn’t want him anywhere but as DH. NL no DH then bye senor Martinez.
as far as limited knowledge the fact remains O’Neill is a better defender than Martinez that’s not saying much but it is still a fact.
