September 23, 2018 at 12:15 am #70360Need Wong. He has had a hot bat recently.
September 23, 2018 at 1:08 am #70363Need to win! I think AZ avoids the sweep. We need to get a sweep! May not happen but we’ve got control of our destiny.

September 23, 2018 at 12:29 pm #70383Per numerous reports:
An MRI earlier showed that Kolten Wong has damage in his knee that may have to be addressed this offseason; he and the team believe that contributes to the hamstring’s recurring soreness. He’s slowed by the pain — and concerned its severity could increase to a strain. #stlcards

September 23, 2018 at 12:31 pm #70384The #STLCards announced this morning that they have recalled rookie infielder Edmundo Sosa from Memphis (AAA). Sosa's addition brings the Cardinals active roster to 36 players. pic.twitter.com/0AuDKjy5iX

September 23, 2018 at 12:41 pm #70385Anyone know if young Edmundo is related to Sammy in any fashion? If so, somebody needs to check out the dude’s bat before the umps go on a little cork hunt if he pinch hits.
September 23, 2018 at 1:03 pm #70387I was hoping O’Neill would be in the lineup after his heroics yesterday.
September 23, 2018 at 1:31 pm #70390I was hoping O’Neill would be in the lineup after his heroics yesterday.
O’Neill???
You mean the guy that is striking out over 40% of the time???
Why on earth would you want him in the lineup????????
I wouldn’t even want him on the team, period.

ParticipantBecause O’Neill is much better defender than Martinez and runs way faster. He can change the game with one swing and his OPS is almost identical to Martinez. .811 to .808 that’s why you put O’Neill over Martinez. The one that I hope is not with the team next year is Martinez.

Participant1-0 Cards Munoz singles Gyorko in.
September 23, 2018 at 2:05 pm #70400I agree with you NJ. Martinez really does need to be traded to an AL team so he can DH.

September 23, 2018 at 2:20 pm #70402NJ315

September 23, 2018 at 2:38 pm #70404It’s interesting how opinions can be based on limited knowledge. I am not aware of all of the facts concerning Martinez’ fielding. But:
% 989 (986 Carpenter, 991 careeer)
Last error at 1B, May 28
Errors in the outfield: 0
Errors in the outfield in career: 1O’Neill has two errors, 968%
Prior to his error today, Munoz was fielding 948.September 23, 2018 at 2:44 pm #70405NJ315
ParticipantMartinez does better at RF than at 1B. I still wouldn’t want him anywhere but as DH. NL no DH then bye senor Martinez.
September 23, 2018 at 2:46 pm #70406NJ315
Participantas far as limited knowledge the fact remains O’Neill is a better defender than Martinez that’s not saying much but it is still a fact.

stlcard25ParticipantDejong! Long single but hit it well to make it 7-0.
September 23, 2018 at 3:09 pm #70413NJ315
ParticipantDeJong singles (should have ran faster it was an easy double) O’Neill scores 7-0!
September 23, 2018 at 3:15 pm #70414NJ315
