Good to get the W last night. It would be better yet to finish off the series with a win tonight before heading to KC. I don’t know anything about the Marlins starter but his stats look decent. Gant has seen his ERA bloat lately, but has looked good at times this year.

Will we get to see Adolis Garcia or Tyson Ross in this one??

i dont understand why we called up Adolis to sit on the bench..waste a 40 man spot when we could have easily called up Sosa or Williams or someone else to sit on the bench…i want Adolis playing

Lets see. Adolis Garcia is hitting .269 at AAA with 83 strikeouts in 350 atbats – around 22% for a K rate.

This equates to about a .230 average in the big leagues with a K rate of around 30%.

Don’t we have enough of these type players on the team already???

And its good to see Carson Kelly get his average up to close to .300 at AAA.

Nice drive by Yadi there to put the Cards up 1-0.

I like the more aggressive running, but not so much when the guy on second gets thrown out like a nincompoop.

    Garcia’s first MLB at bat!

Strike one down and away, swings over a low change…0-2. Pulls one foul, followed by a close one low that’s called a ball. The next one is outside and it’s even. He K’s on another changeup. Ah well…good to get that out of the way.

Rojas hits a meatball into left center and we’re tied.

Unfortunately, the league seems to have majorly figured Gant out lately. He’s not getting the K’s and the ground balls aren’t coming either.

The Cards are making decent contact, but not turning it into runs just yet. Richards has a good change but otherwise very pedestrian stuff. Hopefully they’ll put several more runs on him in the next few innings.

Gant sets em down in order in the 3rd. He’s being pretty efficient with the pitches so far, and looked good and in control that inning.

Rats, look at April and May compared to June and July. Major difference. Stubby mentioned a swing adjustment with Budaska and regular at bats. Also just his second year in the US.

Cy Richards mowing this lineup down like a Cub Cadet. Strikes out the side with his slow ball pitching in the 5th.

I sincerely hope this offense can fare better in Kansas City than they have against the third worst staff in the league this series so far.

Another nice inning for Gant. He’s at 55 pitches through 5. He has struggled his third time through the order but I’m ok with letting him keep going so long as he’s under control. I’d pull him the first sign of trouble this time through, though.

Gant really can’t go 0 for forever, can he?

He’s made contact tonight at least. He’ll get some BABIP luck eventually. Made Richards work for it though.

Richards is missing with his changeup right in the zone now. Ozuna is getting good pitches to hit.

On cue, he drives a double into left, scoring Jmart. 3-1 Cards.
