Two observations from last night’s game.
1. The Cardinals are much better at hitting on the road than at home. Much better. 726 OPS on the road vs .669 OPS at home.
2. The Dodgers seem to have lost their mojo. Perhaps they will cream us tonight but the core of their roster is old and very injury prone. Maybe they will come to life when the calendar flips to October but I suspect they won’t even make it to the WS this year.
I need to watch Baez more and see his approach. Seems to be a little out of control from what some others have said.
Starters usually follow a game day routine, starting early or the evening before. Somebody should tell the computer. Pesky intangibles.
Din-din tonight was a Boursin and spinach quiche, a green salad and a glass of Cotes du Rhone, finishing off with a dish of Haagen-Dazs butter pecan.
Was nice to win one in LA yesterday. The Dodgers seem to be in a bit of a mini slog. Let’s hope it continues another couple of days.
Rah Cardinals!
Cardinals won’t see any bargains tonight as they get a look at who I feel is the best big game pitcher since MadBum. The Dodgers seemingly have things coasting on autopilot right now, but I’m guessing that they’ll be ready when it’s high stakes time.
Extremely long odds on us winning either tonight or tomorrow night with two of the game’s finest hurlers dealing to our boys. But……..these young bucks of our’s do not seem to be overly intimidated by elite pitchers not named “Mizorowski”. It’s not like our batters feast off excellent pitching, but they do enough to get the job done and our pitchers seem rise to the occasion in these games. If we can just hang around and get Yamamoto and Skubal out of the game asap, then we have a legitimate opportunity to steal one of these next two games and win this series.
And what’s for din-din one may ask? It’ll be a trip on over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse for a medium rare bone-in ribeye, asparagus spears, buttered mushrooms and then back at the ranch I have a homemade chocolate pecan pie awaiting my return, to which I’ll slap gobs of extra creamy cool whip on top.

I think TD is on to something. I was thinking Leonardo may have been suffering the effects of jet lag with his quick flight out west and needed a one game rest from the rigors of catching. And what’s with Saggese? He whacks 2 round trippers and is rewarded by being dropped to the very bottom depths of the batting order the very next game. Bernal hasn’t paid his dues yet…..he and Saggese should have been flip-flopped.
We know what yesterday’s lineup looked like, and it scored 13 vs the Dodgers. My theory is the lineup computer got hacked by some jokesters and by some miracle it worked out. Obviously no one has noticed yet, so we are in luck. Señor Yamamoto is going to get a smack down.
All clear weather wise at Doyer Stadium tonight. But in case you are in the Buffalo, NY area it is raining and storming there.
Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for this one. We are having a couple of fish sandwiches with tartar sauce and a bowl of Turkey Hill Homemade Vanilla ice cream around first pitch. Along with an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a couple of 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars to finish out the game.
And in case you are wondering……Milwaukee leads the Cubs 6-5 in the middle of the 6th at Wrigley. Misiorowski didn’t have it tonight for the Brewers.
Having big trouble with Direct TV tonight. Thinking about signing up for Elon Musk’s Starlink and his Tesla phone. Just not sure how the apps will work.
This is the kind of game where you’re comforted to know that you have Pedro Pages ready to go at the back end of the bullpen for as many innings as are needed.
