I literally despise Saturday afternoon games.

Wish the Saturday home games were played at night like they used to be years ago for the most part.

Rats I agree. It is nice when they play at night as you can have a day of going out doing things and come home and watch a ballgame at night. I guess for fans it is maybe easier for a day game. But that is only true at certain times of the year. Day Saturday games in a month in STL will be miserable.

Oh dear. The fuse of my contrarian nature has been lit.

Sorry Rat, but I love Saturday day games.

Baseball was made to be played in sunshine.

If one is absolutely, under pain of death, forced to say something positive about the Cubs, it’s their long, brave holdout against playing baseball under lights.

Sunday is a day game too. I guess they have to get to the ballpark well before game time and for a while after the game. For those that live in STL so much for spending a weekend with the family.

I prefer night games but its whatever. I expect the Cardinals to win this series, although it wont be easy. KC should have a better record. Salvador Perez, Bobby Witt Jr, Pasquatino and Carter Jansen are decent players. Their starters are also not half bad. Don’t understand why they are mediocre. Good for the cards to be back in the Lou,

I demand a complete game 1 hit shutout from Leahy.

There appears to be some green stuff in the metro St. Louis area at the moment according to the Doppler Radar. Hard to say whether this game is delayed or not. However, I do expect it will be played today.

That is one pathetic looking lineup. JJ being out has a big ripple effect of making the overall lineup worse. 3 guys who can’t hit at all in there.

I am a big fan of day baseball, no matter what the day. And even more so now that I am working some of these Rockies games. Working a day game is so much easier – more like a “regular” shift than working the night shift.

Nice win last night. Watched the condensed game. Pozo on a stretch of 4 for 5 I believe. Let’s hope this lineup can produce a little (or a lot) of offense. Against the lefty I would have put him in at catcher today rather than Pedro. But I can see the strategy of keeping him ready for a key pinch- hit spot.

I was thinking the same thing mike. I’m a little surprised they have Pages catching a day game after a night game. It would have been a good time to give Pozo a start.

Saggese really needs to get something going or he needs to go to Memphis. He has had a bad season. I have a lot more faith in Fermin as the UT guy. When Urias comes back they will have a decision to make. Same as when Noot comes back.

Yeah gscottar, I think when Noot returns Saggesse will be the odd man out, unless of course he starts hitting.

And I definitely would have put Pozo behind the plate today, then Pages tomorrow. But then it could be Leahy prefers Pages and the staff wanted to go that way.

I’m a big fan of games played under God’s given sunshine. Saturday afternoon Cardinals/Cubs games played at Wrigley are my favorite during the regular season and some of my fondest memories of WS games were of those played during the day. In fact, all WS games were once played during the day up until the early to mid 70’s and that always worked out real well because everyone’s favorite teacher would place those silly academics on hold and roll in the TV stand and turn on the action for us kiddos to enjoy. Who the heck wants to waste time worrying about an education when the WS is being played? Not me…Haha!

I just got back from walking the dog and didn’t even get wet. Maybe 10 miles from Busch. Bunch of sissies.

I don’t blame them. Many of these guys spend a lot of time and money on their hair. Can’t take the chance of getting it mussed…

Has anyone ever made the dire mistake of rolling the window down in the car or truck to allow a nice breeze of fresh air into the cabin after the little lady has spent the afternoon fixing her coiffure for a night out on the town for a wine and dine? I’ve come close to divorce court after foolishly committing that sort of a catastrophic miscue…

Yeah, it’s always wise to submit a formal request for permission before engaging yourself in something that risky.

I had a bad feeling about that bases loaded 2 out jam, but Leahy works out of it to escape the 2nd unscathed.

What’s OLI thinking??! Fermin at 3B, Saggese at 2B, and no Westerholt.

All jokes aside, Wetherholt has played in every game of the season this year. That’s okay though. I’ve always thought it was a genuine badge of honor for the backside of a player’s trading card to have 162 in the G column for one or more seasons. Many of the all time greats have several of those to their credit.

Church is as smooth as a centerfold’s backside out there in the OF. I’ve really been impressed with his mitt in LF.
