Well prob not gonna get to watch this one either due to practice. But i think ill record it just to see how maye pitches. I think the cardinals may sweep. But ypu never know. Our old pitchers tend to do well against us.

I’m glad to see Matz taking a turn for the other guys.

I expect Matz to have a good year actually. I kept expecting it with the Cards as well so maybe I am foolish. Matz has a good arsenal and can perform very well in stretches. The Rays are a good team for him as they get the most out of pitchers and I wouldnt be surprised if he pitches like a #2 this year.

I would expect matz to pitch well if they dont try to extend him. But our youngsters are on a roll so maybe that continues.

Our first vs lefty lineup this season and we carry a righty bench. Empty it, get em’ in.

Its lucky to start off vs a lesser team like the Rays. Everybody has looked pretty good so far and getting some confidence. The pen has some holes and we have yet to see the back end of our rotation, but so far, so good.

    FYI here,

Din-din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some tater tots in the oven, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, some Black Raspberry ice cream for dessert, and then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar. All of this whilst me and Whitey Herdog are on the couch watching the first couple of innings of the Reds and RedSox and then tuning over to the Redbirds game.

It’s nice to see a couple of Redbirds awarded a nice trophy.

Dodgers and Yankees are both 3-0 on the young season. The Dodgers may not lose a game and it’s my guess they’ll win their third consecutive championship.

Pages went thru May’s pitches. Took a look at all of them.

May is having a Matz like inning here.

Pages tried to muscle him thru with mid to high 90s, didn’t work, they got 3. Finished the inning mixing in soft stuff.

They are really killing May’s fastball early. Every hit has come off it. Mostly his sinker.

3rd inning May goes sweeper, sweeper, curve, change, sweeper to start.

5 pitches in the 80’s. Inning over.
    They sit dead red.

May continues to leave some pitches up and Tampa is getting every one of them. Now 5-1 Rays. This inning a couple hits off the slow stuff. May will be exiting early.

Looks like we’re going to need another one of those eight-rn comeback innings.

I am so perplexed. Walker looked lost throughout all of Spring Training until the final week or so. Then all the sudden he’s only swinging at strikes and is on everything hitting it hard. This is more like the Walker who came up through the minors except he’s getting the ball in the air more often and swinging and missing a bit less. I sure hope this continues. I know we all do.

6-4 Rays now after a Walker 3-run homer to left center. Bruhil in.

Memphis tied 5-5 late. Pretty good outing by Mautz today.

I’m not a Bruhil fan by the way. He’s got a bit of funky movement and he has solid experience but he just nibbles too much and seems to have a high WHIP. I hope he gets replaced by Packy in the next month.
