6:45 p.m.
RHP Erick Fedde (7-5, 3.34) vs. RHP Taj Bradley (6-5, 2.71)
BSM // KMOX // WIJR
Also BS South and Southwest ExtraAugust 7, 2024 at 11:15 am #263363A RHSP. Looking forward to what kind of lineup HAL comes up with. I’m sure Ollie is looking forward to it too.

stlcard25ParticipantGotta get a better performance from Fedde this turn. I think he will. The issue may be the opponent, who will be tough. If the Cards win, it will probably be a 2-1 type of game.

1B A. Burleson L
C W. Contreras R
LF B. Donovan L
3B N. Arenado R
RF L. Nootbaar L
DH M. Carpenter L
2B Nolan Gorman L
CF Victor Scott LAugust 7, 2024 at 4:14 pm #263415No Goldschmidt in the lineup?
I guess we may as well start getting used to it. Especially considering he basically gives us little to nothing.

jj-cf-stlParticipantGoldy has really struggled vs righties, and the K’s are piling up vs them. Good game to sit him.
Fedde faced the TBR back in April. GmSc of 70 and a Win.
August 7, 2024 at 4:48 pm #263418If you removed every name in today’s lineup that has contributed little to nothing, you’d be left with a lineup that consisted of 2 or 3 names.
August 7, 2024 at 4:51 pm #263419I hope Fedde does a little better in his encore turn. If he does, I’ll look up how to pronounce his name.
Edit…I don’t possess the self control or the patience to wait until later to look up the pronunciation of Fedde’s name, so I did…It rhymes with, Haskell.
August 7, 2024 at 5:04 pm #263420Little Fedde.
August 7, 2024 at 5:19 pm #263422Haha…Who?
August 7, 2024 at 5:20 pm #263423I would have flipped Burleson and Donovan in that lineup.
August 7, 2024 at 5:25 pm #263424I would have pronounced Fedde’s name as it is, so good on that one. Mikolas though, had I not known I would have pronounced “Meh-COLE-is”.
When I was a kid and got my first Bob Uecker card I called him Bob “You-Eck-er”. 😀
August 7, 2024 at 5:27 pm #263425Why in the world would you want to remove Donovan from cleanup? Doesn’t anyone remember that his formidable and dangerous bat was once called upon in the post-season to replace Albert Pujols in the 5 slot?
August 7, 2024 at 5:30 pm #263426Haha…I would have had an easier time spelling Czechoslovakia when I was a kid than I would have had pronouncing Uecker’s name.
August 7, 2024 at 6:47 pm #263428Good job, TD……you spelled it correctly. Kind of ironic that you brought Czechoslovakia up, as I just had my 8 year granddaughter learn how to spell it this past weekend. Anytime she learns a new word, I also have her spell it backwards too. She’s really struggling with spelling Czehoslovakia in reverse, but she’s getting closer. She told me she’d have it done with perfection by this coming weekend.
Fedde should fare well this evening. Let’s call it 6-3 Birds with Burly sending one sailing high up into the right field rafters with a man aboard.
August 7, 2024 at 7:16 pm #263430Once she masters that, have her work on Grudzielanek, Schoendienst and Rzepczynski… (I could do them all from memory…)
August 7, 2024 at 7:59 pm #263431Fedde going 5 strong tonight. Lol
Did they give Carlson a standing ovation when he came up?
August 7, 2024 at 8:04 pm #263432
jj-cf-stlParticipantEven our outs have been loud.
August 7, 2024 at 8:04 pm #263433Huge two-run double for Burleson into the RF corner. 5-1 Cards in the fourth.
August 7, 2024 at 8:09 pm #263434Maybe the answer is to only face RHP…
The five earned runs allowed by Taj Bradley tonight match his season high, set on May 20 in seven innings.

August 7, 2024 at 8:11 pm #263436Fedde works quickly. I like that.
August 7, 2024 at 8:18 pm #263437Just tuned in and a quick look at the box tells me Fedde looks pretty good in front of the home crowd. It also looks like the Redbird bats have provided him a nice lead by way of hitting the daily double. It doesn’t always have to be taters for supper to push runs across.
August 7, 2024 at 8:23 pm #263438
jj-cf-stlParticipantI had Fedde back out to start the inning and monitor.
August 7, 2024 at 8:25 pm #263439I guess they want to ensure Fedde has a positive experience after his first clunker. He wasn’t very efficient with 93 pitches. It is right in his normal range as he went over 100 just three times in 21 starts with the Sox. His average with them was 89 pitches in 5 2/3 innings.
August 7, 2024 at 8:27 pm #263440
jj-cf-stlParticipant2 on, DP ball would be handy
