RHP Sonny Gray (2-0, 0.00) vs. RHP Colin Rea (2-0, 2.70)
BSM // KMOX // WIJR
Also BS South and SouthwestApril 20, 2024 at 4:58 pm #248873Does anybody besides me think this is a really important game?
April 20, 2024 at 9:01 pm #248898Series is lost but yeah, winning one would be nice. if Gray gets 4-5 runs to work with that should get it done and then try to carry some momentum into the Arizona series.
Until the offense wakes up though it’s going to be tough sledding. Team is already 5 off the pace in the NLC – if they get to 10 out I think the team will collapse on itself.
The team is as emotionally dead as any team I’ve seen; they don’t seem to have any fire…
April 20, 2024 at 9:55 pm #248901Unless they put things right, there may not be any important games after the month of April.
April 21, 2024 at 7:32 am #248913Is there such a thing as a must win in April? Of course not. Maybe for fans. I’m grumpy about the team right now, and like a lot of fans, whatever I say is derived from the frustrations of what has turned into a losing organization. Until they start functioning as a winning organization, they’re going to be hearing a lot of noise from outside. If this continues thru 2024, I can’t imagine MO, Oli, et al surviving to mess up 2025.
April 21, 2024 at 9:42 am #248920When Oli says “at the end of the day”, what day is he talking about? Days keep ending and nothing good happens.

April 21, 2024 at 10:11 am #248926Just wait until September and October, duh….

First, TLR said at times just one winning streak can turn things around. We need to end this losing streak and start a winning streak.
Second, look at the Dodgers. They spend a billion dollars and now are barely over .500 at 12-11. Imagine how they feel out in Los Angeles.

April 21, 2024 at 12:11 pm #248938Din-din today will be a Ribeye steak in the air fryer. Along with some jumbo crinkle-cut French Fries. Some strawberries with extra glaze and a bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog tune in from the couch.
The Reds and Angels start at 1:40 in Cincinnati so we might catch the first couple of innings from Crosley Field. That would mean, however, we’d be forced to listen to the absolute worst announcing team in all of baseball in Sadak and Larkin.

April 21, 2024 at 12:40 pm #248941Scott collected almost a month of ML paychecks, so he’ll be buying the clubhouse pizza and beer for a while in Memphis. Unless its not like it was in the old days. Maybe this next winter they will send him to one of those biometrics virtual hitting optimization camps like Donovan and some other guys have gone to. That poor guy was getting the bat knocked out of his hands and sand kicked in his face by the big kids.
April 21, 2024 at 12:53 pm #248942Johnny’s hawking his special brand of flim-flam on the pregame show with the Cat. In regards to the lack of any offensive production Johnny says, “In time we think it’s going to work out…We have to exercise some patience…I have confidence we’ll get to where we need to go”…Haha!
April 21, 2024 at 12:59 pm #248943Didn’t work last year.
Hasn’t worked this year.
What’s the definition of insanity?
I am talking about the offense, of course. And I keep asking about our hitting coach. Might he be part of the problem?
April 21, 2024 at 1:09 pm #248944The Cardinals are now having to carry 3 C’s in order to regularly make use of both Contreras and Herrera at DH and behind HP in the everyday line-up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Big League roster constructed in such a short sighted way as to require the presense of 3 C’s without any one of them being injured. It’s an odd time in Redbirdland.

Sounds pretty confident. Maybe our goals are different. The path Mo is on is seller. If that were my goal, I’d be confident too.April 21, 2024 at 1:16 pm #248946Right now where they need to go is anywhere other than last place which is where it seems like they’ve been since the Pharaoh supervised the construction of the Pyramids.

jj-cf-stlParticipantSonny on Sunday. It was set up right to win or sweep the series. Lets see if we can scratch out a win.
April 21, 2024 at 1:26 pm #248948Nice to see they finally moved Goldschmidt out of the #2 slot!
I’d like to see him a bit lower in the order, but it’s a start!
April 21, 2024 at 1:28 pm #248949A 3 run robbery in CF.
April 21, 2024 at 1:30 pm #248950That is why you do not put Goldschmidt at #5 right now
April 21, 2024 at 1:36 pm #248951
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe bronze busts didn’t come to the rescue. Arenado had a sac fly opp.
April 21, 2024 at 1:37 pm #248953There’s nowhere to hide a guy who is not hitting.
