The big smile displayed by the little bird on his O’s cap should provide a counterbalance to the brooding mope displayed on Jack’s face while he was a Redbird. He always made it abundantly clear he was unhappy in StL. and I’m happy to see him gone. My only regret is that the Orioles are my favorite AL team and I wish he’d have been sent somwhere else.
Prieto’s stats indicate he could turn out to be a nice pick up.
I’d like to know who else is involved before we label the early stages of this trade as a positive or as a negative.
Drew Rom. He’s trash. He’s ranked in their top 20 I believe but that’s a major let down to me. I’d much rather have Povich or McDermott.
It’s clear the players weren’t valued very highly based on the roster fillers received for them. I’m afraid all this did was lower the wage bill the remainder of the year. It does nothing to help them in 2024 or beyond. If one of these prospects hit it will be lucky.
The Cardinals FO did an excellent job with 4 trades at the deadline.

You couldn’t be more wrong. I despise people who think they know more than the people involved. We were trading 5 players who are rental-free agents. Total lack of understanding.
