RHP Miles Mikolas (4-1, 3.75) vs. LHP Rich Hill (4-5, 4.76)
Peacock Network exclusive // KMOXPujols will be part of the broadcast team. I don’t know if the Peacocks will have people in a booth at the ballpark or what.
I have a feeling this is how MLB handles broadcasting games.
Interesting. Spreading content out over multiple platforms behind pay walls is a really good way to alienate a big chunk of your fan base for a few dollars.
Why is this game starting at 11:35am Pittsburgh time? Is it because of Peacock or does someone have an early tee time?
Cardinals can’t get a hit when they need it.
Bullpen has been very inconsistent.
Starting pitching hasn’t been good except for Mikolas.
If it’s not one thing it’s another with this team.
I wonder how they will lose this game?
They will likely win it but the series is already lost.
The position we find ourselves in is a true team effort from the owner, to the POBO, to the GM, to the manager, to the players (special mention to the starting rotation). It took everyone contributing and pulling in the same direction to make this happen.
The way our season has gone to date, we will likely win this one to the tune of something like 9-2. Thus it will be yet another series where we outscore the opponent, yet lose the series.
Oh, and on these alternative broadcast games, I don’t really mind that. I like occasionally listening to the KMOX broadcast as it is easier to do other things than just zombie out in front of the television. My favorite thing to do is ride the bike while listening to the game – great way to burn off the anger at our latest blunder.
Plus our team is kind of hard to watch anyway.

I can tell you the 3+ million sheep who go through the turnstiles won’t be too hurt with the way the team has played most of the season. Might enjoy a day off actually.
Rich Hill, the Pirates starter, is 43 years old and has 4 quality starts so far this year, and has gone 6 innings 5 times.
For those who don’t remember, he appeared in quite a few games for Memphis in 2010.

The show is called MLB Sunday leadoff or whatever because it’s the first game of the day. Peacock has an exclusive window to televise games.
They used guys from other teams booths last season but this season I do believe they’ve got an exclusive crew.

Before you know it MLB Extra Innings will only have 120-130 games – they will still charge you full price – but you will be missing 30-40 games unless you go subscribe to 3 or 4 other places….
It looks like there’s only one more game this year (tomorrow on Peacock) that requires streaming. Not worth a $4.99/month fee just for that even if it is cancelable. The ESPN and FOX broadcasts along with BSMW should be available on your cable service. But I agree the more gyrations they put you through to watch a game means fewer fans. Not sure how the economics works with that for MLB and the broadcasters…

I haven’t heard anything about Carlson or O’Neill lately. Anyone know if one of those guys might be coming back, or what is going on with them? Seems like they just disappeared.
I hope I don’t get in trouble for saying this. But I will not be watching the Reds/Cardinals game on June 9th in St. Louis.

I’m confused here. You complaining about the Cardinals games only or are you complaining about having to have a pay subscription to watch a bunch of MLB games?
Not everyone has cable. Not everyone wants to pony up for MLB TV. These are streaming options. You know which almost everyone uses.
I don’t know why our highly esteemed Rats isn’t tuning in to watch the Cardinals/Reds game on June 9th, but I’m entirely certain he wouldn’t dare miss it if ol’ Dusty were still the Reds manager…Haha!

it’s a matter of pride, I’m sure. I don’t plan to watch either. Will listen to Rooney and Horton instead.
