DSL Red at Cubs Red, 10:30 am ETAgain, I do not understand why minor leagues don’t play on Memorial Day, or Labor Day, or possibly July 4th. It’s a great chance for a day game where families can come watch. You can always move the off day to a Tuesday, or Thursday.
This is a theory, not proven. MLB sets the schedules and may not care much about the minor league gate.

The rest of the story:
Liberatore went 5 IP, gave 10 hits and a HBP. Took the loss giving up 6 runs, in part due to a costly error by Yepez.
For Springfield Hudson went 4 IP, 4 hits, 2 walks. 2 unearned runs.
4 of Libby’s runs look to be unearned. Yepez has quite the bat but it sort of looks like DH may be his best position. And Walker has had a few growing pains but just looks like a good power hitter should looks at his age and level.

DSL off#12 at Memphis for Gorman, #23 overall. His AAA line is now .290/.332/.496. A little light on the walks, but the power looks pretty good. Most importantly, the Cards have challenged him and he’s struggled to start at every level but then made the adjustments and ended up having a solid year at every stop. That should continue at the MLB level in 2022.

Has anyone witnessed Gorman at 2nd in person or on TV? If he can stick at 2nd, that could be a huge lift for the lineup in the future.

DSL Blue at Red, 10:30 a.m. ETI don’t pay too much attention to the lower levels and missed that Dionys Rodriguez morphed into a starter earlier this season. He had mostly stunk as a reliever but seems to be doing decently as a starter for a horrible team. It looks like he is getting the walks under control. Can’t find out much about him.
