Minor League Game Thread – Week of Sept 6-12

Why do the Cardinals keep guys like Justin Toerner, Scott Hurst, and Chase Pinder around? As fillers?

[blingboy]

I guess every org has its share of organization guys who are not MLB prospects.

The #STLCards system went 4-3 on Saturday. The Players of the Day are Springfield 1B Chandler Redmond and Springfield 2B Nick Dunn. Redmond finished the night 4-for-4 with four RBI while Dunn went 4-5 with a grand slam and five RBI. (free) https://t.co/TGmhzR5sCe

Sunday, September 12

Memphis at Nashville, 6:15 p.m., Matthew Liberatore
Springfield vs. Arkansas, 6:05 p.m., Dakota Hudson
Peoria at Quad Cities, 1:00 p.m., Mac Lardner
Palm Beach at Fort Myers, noon ET, Ludwin Jimenez
FCL and DSL off

[blingboy]

The starters today are more interesting than yesterday.

Libby seems to be learning with every outing. Will he win a rotation job out of Spring Training?

[blingboy]

If he’s healthy he will. Not everyone who might be ahead of him will be able to answer the bell on opening day. No telling if he will stick initially.

[bccran]

Nice outings by Libby and Dakota.
Donovan had a 3 hit day, Walker blasted 2, and L.V. went 4 out of 5.

[bccran]

Walker is now hitting .300 at Peoria, and is .324/.396/.549 for the season.
Wow. Maybe 2 years away?

The #STLCards system went 2-2 on Sunday. The Player of the Day is Springfield RF Leandro Cedeno, who hit two home runs, scored twice and tallied 4 RBI. Peoria 3B Jordan Walker (2 HR, 3 RBI), and Palm Beach DH LJ Jones (4-5, 4R, HR) also played well. (free) https://t.co/ES0Zgq4Uji
