Tuesday, July 6th
Memphis at Louisville: 6:00 pm CT, Matthew Liberatore (?)
Springfield vs Tulsa: 6:35 pm CT, Andre Pallante (?)
Peoria at Cedar Rapids: 6:35 pm CT, Connor Lunn (?)
Palm Beach at Lakeland: Postponed to July 8th
FCL Cardinals at FCL Mets: 10:00 pm ET, TBAJuly 6, 2021 at 4:31 pm #165796The Palm Beach game has been postponed due to the impending hurricane. I’ll assume that at a minimum, they might resume play Thursday or Friday.
July 6, 2021 at 4:34 pm #165797Hence pitched a third hitless inning for our FCL team. 0 hits, 0 walks, 6 Ks, 21 pitches total, wow.
July 6, 2021 at 4:54 pm #16579927, are you sure on the pitch count? 6 Ks is 18 pitches, 3 other outs in 3 pitches. Are they doing like spring training games and only counting an out as 1 pitch unless it is a strikeout? They give walks 4 pitches towards pitch count.
July 6, 2021 at 7:36 pm #165821Walker is halfway to a cycle. He has the hardest feat accomplished as he just tripled.
July 6, 2021 at 7:40 pm #165824Forsch, that is what Milb stats say. I did not think about that. Simply too few pitche with all the Ks. But impressive nonetheless.
July 6, 2021 at 9:55 pm #165845A pretty much blah games tonight with 2 blow outs tonight takes an exciting turn as Nunez hits an absolute bomb to center to tie it in the 7th, and Baker crushed one to win it in the 9th. My estimate for Bakers 10th homer of the year had to have went 450 feet plus.
July 7, 2021 at 7:33 am #165909The #stlcards minors went 1-for-4 Tuesday with a rainout. Player of the Day Malcom Nuñez’s three hits and Luken Baker’s walk-off powered Springfield’s win but Jordan Walker’s big bat was not enough to give Peoria a victory. Memphis at Louisville: 6:00 pm CT, Jake Woodford
Springfield vs Tulsa: 6:35 pm CT, Dalton Roach
Peoria at Cedar Rapids: 6:35 pm CT, Michael YaSenka
Palm Beach at Lakeland: 5:30 pm CT, Jose Moreno
FCL Cardinals vs. Astros: noon ET, TBAJuly 7, 2021 at 8:43 am #165917These are important starts for Woodford. He could pitch his way into the St. Louis rotation soon if he is sharp.

Participant26 starts for Memphis in 2019. Over 150 innings in 5 months. Starter for the PCL in the AAA All Star game. Woodford isn’t lights out, but he knows how to pitch.
July 8, 2021 at 2:46 am #166000Yepez hits 2 homers, Sanchez and Perez had 3 hits each for their respective teams. Yepez quietly is having a very good year. Yepez and Perez, are still only 23 and 22 respectively.
July 8, 2021 at 7:47 am #166005The #stlcards system was 1-4 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation's Player of the Day is SS Delvin Perez. The leadoff man went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Springfield’s win over Tulsa. (free) https://t.co/69pfEeCPAR pic.twitter.com/t89nnP0IXg

Given this, I was surprised to hear Shildt assert yesterday that Woodford “hasn’t pitched a lot of Triple-A ball.” I guess he meant recently. Or perhaps he was trying to blunt any speculation that Jake would be asked to join his rotation. I dunno what was behind it, but it struck me as less supportive than I would have expected.
July 8, 2021 at 2:54 pm #166025Is Perez becoming a legit prospect again? The recent numbers are hinting at the possibility and talk said he really transformed his body during the 2020 shutdown
July 8, 2021 at 6:38 pm #166029Palm Beach is up 3-0 despite losing 2 runners on the base paths.
July 8, 2021 at 6:42 pm #166030As far as Perez goes, He is taking much better at bats, and driving in key runs. He definitely plays with some attitude, and so far is backing it up both in the field, and at the plate. Right now, I would say he has to be added to the 40 man roster.

Yeah, considering Oviedo didn’t pitch any Triple-A and it hasn’t stopped Shildt from using him in the rotation.
July 8, 2021 at 9:19 pm #166042Peoria and Cedar Rapids hooked up in a scoreless ballgame as they head to the 9th in Iowa. YaSenka was on his game this evening, as he went 6 innings strong, giving up just 3 hits and one free pass, while whiffing 8.
July 8, 2021 at 9:41 pm #166044Burleson has homered and driven in 3 runs tonight. He has 11 homers and 36 rbis, which leads all Cards farm hands. He looks like he will be on the Memphis/St Louis trajectory next year. Hope he gets a up of coffee at Memphis this year.
July 8, 2021 at 9:54 pm #166045Maybe it’s just me, but the umps don’t do our young prospects any favors on their ball strike counts. Sisk had apparent check swing strikes on 2 different batters, one batter twice, with 2 of 3 of the pitches that looked like strikes any way. I swear that is Angel Hernandez behind the plate.
July 8, 2021 at 10:33 pm #166047Burleson and Plummer hit their 2nd homer of the game, Plummer’s bomb give Springfield an 8-7 lead. Now to see if the bullpen can hold it, yikes.
July 8, 2021 at 11:19 pm #166048Wow, what a game!! I have a feeling I know who is player of the day, and his name is Nick Plummer!! His 3rd homer of the game wins it 10-9. Take that worst home plate umpire I have seen this year.
July 9, 2021 at 12:40 am #166051Brendan Donovan OPSing .954 at Springfield. If he keeps this up, they won’t be able to hide him much longer.
