stlcard25ParticipantPerez doesn’t look to be running fast, but he sure gets around the bases. Nice to see some pop to right center from him. His 112 wRC+ is being propped up by an unsustainable BABIP, but if he could be averageish with the bat he’s an MLB player.

ParticipantWill be watching closely his LIPS, WPA, and wRAA this season.
June 30, 2021 at 8:21 pm #165217L.J. Jones IV had a big day after he only recently came off of the IL. He had 5 hits in 8 AB. Raised his batting average over 20 points. I just noticed that Jones’ full name is Leonard Charles Jones IV. L.J. must stand for Leonard Jones. I couldn’t find confirmation of it, but I’m guessing that everybody calls him ‘LJ’.
June 30, 2021 at 8:32 pm #165220Nick Plummer is OPSing .823 at Springfield. It’s still too early to call, given his production in previous years. But if he keeps this up, he’ll have to be put on the 40-man, IMO.
Also, if he improved this much in one year, there’s reason to think he hasn’t hit his floor yet, and could continue to improve. He’s 24 years old.June 30, 2021 at 9:27 pm #165227Perez with 3 hits tonight in the first game of a DH. Walker gets his first Peoria hit. He looks very comfortable at the plate. He was caught looking on a borderline pitch.
June 30, 2021 at 9:30 pm #165228Wondering if Thompson shouldn’t be sent to Springfield. Get his confidence going.
June 30, 2021 at 11:22 pm #165232Brendan Donovan, for some reason, isn’t getting much ink. But there he is in Springfield putting up an OPS of .886.

stlcard25ParticipantI was curious how pitching was doing compared to hitting across the minors this year, as it seems like there are a lot of high scoring affairs. Well, that was sort of eye opening.
Only one starter has an ERA below 3.00 in the AAA East, and Liberatore is 15th there at 4.40. He’s also 4th in WHIP at 1.16 and 7th in batting average allowed. So all in all, I guess he’s held his own compared to the rest. That’s encouraging.
Andre Pallante is 4th in ERA in the Texas League, err AA Central, and 2nd in innings pitched. His 1.53 WHIP isn’t much to write home about, but he’s gotten the job done so far.

Yes, absolutely. He should have started the season in Springfield.
Brendan Donovan, for some reason, isn’t getting much ink. But there he is in Springfield putting up an OPS of .886.
I have noticed the same. He is quietly having a very solid season.

ParticipantDidn’t know where to put this bit Cardinals screwed liberatore. Kept him from being on Olympic team just because their minors are in a mess. Just so wrong on so many levels
July 3, 2021 at 9:23 am #165443July 3, 2021 at 9:27 am #165444Edwin Nunez has pitched much better lately. Others who have have very good outings this week include Dionys Rodriguez, Manzo, Pereria, with Hence has pitched 2 perfect innings. I’d be surprised if Hence doesn’t get sent to Palm Beach soon.
Rodriguez would have been my pitcher of the month, but I would have thought his 17 innings wouldn’t qualify.
