45 minutes after Game 1 conclusion
RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon (0-3, 5.74) vs. RHP Josh Lindblom (2-3, 4.81)
FS Midwest // KMOX // WIJRPonce will almost certainly be Friday’s 29th man.
Note that the Brewers are the home team.

ParticipantJust a hunch…. PDL out-pitches Flaherty. Ponce gets a W and hopefully Cards win G1 also.

stlcard25ParticipantOffensive explosion afoot here in the 1st for the Cards. Already 1 run.
September 25, 2020 at 7:28 pm #141893One is a crooked number in a serif font. Make it stand up Ponce.

stlcard25ParticipantDylan juuuuust missed that one. Thought that was gone. Busch effect, I’m guessing.

stlcard25ParticipantDylan Carlson (7) off RHP Josh Lindblom – 101.4 mph, 27 degrees (402 ft Flyout, .820 xBA)

stlcard25ParticipantFinally a bit of luck. Wong somehow not hit on the wild pitch.
Now Wong says he’ll pick it up anyway…triple in the gap! 3-0 Cards
September 25, 2020 at 7:46 pm #141900Nice to see the Cardinals put up a crooked number in the second.

stlcard25ParticipantMiami leads NY 3-2 in the 6th. Philadelphia leads Tampa 4-3 in the 6th. San Francisco leads San Diego 5-1 in the 5th. The Reds and Twins are tied 0-0 in the 2nd. Cubs lead the White Sox 1-0 in the 3rd.
September 25, 2020 at 7:52 pm #141902Grichuk ramrods home run #11 in Toronto’s 10-4 dismantling of Baltimore.
Just got home…..looks like I lucked out in missing Game 1.
September 25, 2020 at 7:55 pm #141903Tell you what…..if the cubbies offered me Bryant, Hoerner and Schwarber for Carlson and Cabrera, I’d tell them to take a hike.
September 25, 2020 at 7:57 pm #141905
stlcard25ParticipantPonce mows the Brewers down in their half of the second. Way to put up a 0 after the team scores.
September 25, 2020 at 8:06 pm #141908Taco Bell is my din-din on this fine Friday evening in America’s Dairyland. Burrito supreme, Mexican pizza, beans & cheese, with a splash of Pepsi.
Alexander Claudio( 2020 salary of 1.75MM ) on in relief of Lindbloom. Sets down the two Birds he faces….Dexter via the K route. Still 3-0 Good Guys.
September 25, 2020 at 8:14 pm #141909Looks like we two are lone wolves here tonight, Stlcard25. Anyone else out there?
September 25, 2020 at 8:18 pm #141910
stlcard25ParticipantI guess so, Pugs. Maybe everyone gave up in digust after the first game.
September 25, 2020 at 8:18 pm #141911Claudio accomplished his mission tonight, as he gives way to Drew Rasmussen here in the Redbird 4th.
September 25, 2020 at 8:22 pm #141912
stlcard25ParticipantElsewhere in the game, the Pirates have a no hitter going against the Indians. Mitch Keller allowed one run though on…8 walks, looks like. Would have to be the least impressive no no ever if it holds up.
September 25, 2020 at 8:26 pm #141913Wow! 8’s are wild. No-no thru 8 with 8 walks. Keep us posted, Stlcard25.
September 25, 2020 at 8:31 pm #141914I’m here Pugs. Reading a bit of PG Wodehouse. Helping my wife with some poetry interpretation. Digesting home made Ramen. Looking fainthearted through my fingers, prepared to replay each time something good happens.
September 25, 2020 at 8:34 pm #141915I’m surprised more pitchers are not injured by line shots right back at them. I guess that’s testimony to their athletism. If I were out there, a simple drag bunt may put me down for the count. Ponce keeps trucking along as he quickly dispatches the first two Brewer batters here in their home half of the 4th.
September 25, 2020 at 8:35 pm #141916
stlcard25ParticipantThe Tribe broke up the no no in the 7th. As it’s the Pirates, they have only scored 2 runs so they are in a dogfight despite the no no til now.
September 25, 2020 at 8:37 pm #141917Sir Pelham rocks! Any poetic passages that you want to share, So_Cal_Cards?
September 25, 2020 at 8:40 pm #141918Edman launches a long one to right with a mate aboard! 5-0
