Goldy scorched that one and was robbed. Now Edman gunned down on a perfect throw at 2nd. That’s the kind of stuff that can ignite a team. Hopefully not the Tigers.
Wonder what Gombers pitch limit is? Never mind, Reyes is in. It would be great top get a couple good innings out of Reyes.
If Reyes can get it going he can be a real weapon in the pen. Imagine next year having Reyes, Gallegos, and Hicks for innings 7-9. As Dandy Don Meredith would say, “Goodnight the party is over.”
I’m thinking Reyes could start of of the 8 million double headers next week. Hopefully we get 3 or 4 innings out of him.
Beginning to think we are taxing Gant too much. I don’t want a repeat of last year. Next week is critical for the pen.
I think Shildt and Mo deserve kudos for their handling of the pitching staff so far. They’ve made the most out of a difficult situation. But the most difficult week is coming. I hope some pitchers get healthy.
