Stefan Trosclair of the Palm Beach Cardinals has been named the high-A Florida State League Player of the Week for the period of August 13-19. At the plate, the 22-year old went 10-for-27 (.370), including five doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored.
Trosclair, who also was an injury fill-in at Double-A Springfield from May 18 until June 28, is a versatile defender. Though first base may be considered home, he has also played extensively at second base and in left field as well for Palm Beach manager Dann Bilardello.
At the plate across the two stops this season, the left-handed hitter has a slash line of .256/.334/.414/.748 to go with 12 home runs and 56 RBI in 360 at-bats over 103 games.
Selected by St. Louis in the 20th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Trosclair was The Cardinal Nation Peoria Chiefs Player of the Year for 2017 and had earlier been named a 2017 Midwest League mid-season All-Star.
