The Johnson City Cardinals had a historic week on the diamond, winning the division title in Wednesday night’s victory over Kingsport and securing a spot in the championship series with the Burlington Royals after Sunday’s win over Bristol. Mateo Gil batted .379 for the week, including a .455 mark in the semi-finals.
