And as I have said other times, worrying about the low odds of him winning ROY by keeping him down when there is an ideal opportunity to get his career started now would be very short sighted.

Exactly. That was one of the weirder elements of the new CBA. Surely there are better incentives to avoid service time manipulation than dangling a carrot that is highly unlikely to happen. It would be like developing your household budget in anticipation of winning the lottery.

Thanks, GameCard. You just moved Tommy Edman’s trade value up a few notches with that comment. I’ve been on the Hudson bandwagon for years, now. It’s been a bumpy road, and at times, I’ve had to hold onto that bandwagon for dear life. I still love Huddie because of all the gr0nds balls he throws when he’s really on his game, and the defense that follows. Edman has been a contributor to that defense on many occasions.

The thing that keeps my glasses rose colored regarding Hudson is how when he is on, you can look at him pitching in the 7th and he might only be at 75 pitches. He is one of our few guys that I feel can throw a complete game without 130 pitches

Mr P I agree Hudson can look very good when he is healthy and having a good game. Probably more so than anybody on the staff. I agree it is enticing.
