Other than chronic overuse the last couple of years I don’t know what is wrong with him but he should be sent down. He has options. He was a nice rule 5 story but midnight has struck and the ball is over.
Definitely he should be part of the Memphis shuffle, if not a permanent place at Memphis. If he pitches well there, bring him back up in the rotation of Brebbia, Gant, etc
Maybe nothing is wrong with him other than striking midnight, like you said. Bowman’s peripherals the first two years with the Cards were better than his MiLB stats, albeit comparing relief vs starter stats. Maybe this is because relievers are often placed in advantageous situations/matchups. Relievers just seem to get chased down by the league after 2 or 3 years — they get figured out. Maybe Bowman is just being Bowman now.
