2020 stats are okay for seasoned players who weren’t infected. Like those stats for O’Neill are telling. Mainly because he was trying to cut back on his extremely high K
rate and the adjustment hurt his power. He needs to find a balance.December 30, 2020 at 8:36 am #150790The #stlcards made a highly-visible statement about the state of their payroll by paying $1 MM to their leadoff man and the best defender in the game at second base to take his skills to another team for 2021. December 31, 2020 at 7:59 am #150889In August, the #stlcards brought up their top prospect, and in his second try, Dylan Carlson stuck. In fact, less than a month after his recall, the rookie was the team’s cleanup hitter in the playoffs. TCN's Top 2020 Story no. 2: Carlson Cleans Up. January 3, 2021 at 8:51 am #151073I like these predictions. They all seem very probable.
The only other prediction I can think of would be one titled “Payroll space is coming.” Of course this won’t have an impact until November or December at the earliest so it could spill over into 2022.
I just hope we don’t see a prediction titled “ A work stoppage is coming.”
January 3, 2021 at 2:15 pm #151089Thanks. Yes, I thought about the labor mess as I believe it could become THE top story across MLB in both 2021 and 2022. However, I did not see an StL-specific slant that was clear enough to bump one of these Cardinals-only topics off.
