I almost feel like the Cardinals have the lead after stranding that baserunner after he’d reached 3B with no outs.

Arenado chases that pitch every time with a 2 strike count. He just can’t lay off.

    Off with his head.

Arenado is a mess at the plate at the present time. And against a LHP that is struggling to throw stikes. If I were manager, Arenado and Gorman would likely drive me to drinking, right now. What is going on with those two? Ollie needs to go Winn, Donovan, Burleson, Goldy, Contreras, right now. The rest of the lineup is currently a “crap shoot”.

That’s 4 BB’s before Abbott records 4 outs. Have to make this guy throw strikes.

RHP sliders down and away or LHP changeups down and away get Arenado to swing every time

That is multiple times I’ve heard Winn scream a curse when he hits a popup. It doesn’t bother me, but it makes me curious if the Cards have said anything to him about it.

Mikolas is looking very hittable tonight

Goldschmidt can’t buy a thrill, but Arenado picks him up! That’s a start. Plenty of outs left.

Off a lefty too. Arenado needs that badly.

It was a little disconcerting to see a 5-0 deficit when the opposing pitcher has gifted 5 BB’s in less than 3 IP’ed, but I guess that’s what happens when the enemy sets up an ambush composed of a triple and 4 doubles.

In 70 PA’s this season vs lefties, Arenado is slugging .318. Thumping lefties is what has been missing.

Mikolas not giving the team much of a chance in this turn.

Miles is just throwing it tonight. Not really pitching. It’s like he knows he’s supposed to go 7 so his goal is to just put balls in play and hope they are fielded. Except that balls are just being ripped all over by this normally ho-hum Reds offense. It’s worst case scenario for St Louis because they have no one to back Miles up. Fernandez will probably have to take 2. Not that we want him pitching 2 in a game like this. But Gio is the only useless guy and he threw about 30 pitches yesterday.

We pivoted to spaghetti for din-din tonight and will do Mexican tomorrow.

Meanwhile I have not been watching the game as after dinner Lady Bike and I got out for a walk. Just checked the score and will skip it tonight.

The deal about Winn swearing every time he hits a pop up is annoying. A buddy texted me about a month ago and said “I like Winn, but am tired of his f-bombs every time he pops up.” Management needs to let him know that people hear that, and while it is frustrating to miss a pitch, we need to keep in mind that we are a high profile enterprise.

Yeah, someone should explain that it’s not too swift of him.

Miles reminds me of what he was doing the last month and a half last year where he was just getting the ball and throwing it. Maybe experimenting a bit. But not really trying to execute each pitch.

Miles now churning out more hits than Barry Gordy in Motown.

Mikolas was beginning to shave his ERA down to a respectable area, but he’s now back up to well over 5.00 after this lousy turn with 9 ER’s in 4.1 IP’ed.

Make it 10 ER’s with that run scoring on the sac-fly.

When you rely on pitch to contact in the modern game, you get clunkers like this every now and again.

Went out to din din and came back to a blow out. Miles should have taken a page out of Sonny’s book and took himself out.

Totally agree, Miles should take himself out, since nobody else seems to have the sense……. Ah King is in…

The Reds scored another run and the announcer didn’t even bother mentioning it. 11-2
