Boy, that was close. Arenado botches that same sort of throw to 1B more than I care to endure.

I would have lost my mind if Goldy hadn’t made that play.

Haha…He made the play and I still misplaced my senses, KCB!

How long do we have to leave Contreras in the 3 hole before we move him down to get his groove. And thank you Goldy.

We win the series. Good game. Great job by Liberatore, Burleson, and Goldschmidt.

That’s my favorite win of the season. I would have been heartbroken had Helsley not saved it. Lib out of the doghouse. Goldy out of the doghouse. Losing both ends of the double dip would have been deflating.

Helsley gets it done. He’s storing up a nice collection of saves this season at 28 so far.

That was a great win. All three of the early season “lights out” guys, Kitty, JoJo and Helsley have been shaky of late. But they have mostly kept things from getting out of hand.

Liberatore really sharp. Burly and Donovan have carried the offense for awhile.

    Game Ball to Matthew Liberatore

Hat-tip to Michael Siani, who was 5 fer 8 this series, and added sparkling D. Also, Burly doubles twice and drives in a couple more like it’s his routine.

That seems like the first series win against the Braves since the ’19 NLDS.

I’ll gladly take a series win against Atlanta. Agreed with JJ’s hat tip to Siani. He hit well this series and continues to play some of the best defense in baseball.

I just watched the last pitch of the game and that 1-2 slider for the game ending K from Helsley to Duvall was a genuine wipeout slider. Ty Cobb can’t hit that pitch.

I would guess that may have been Libratore’s best outing in the majors with the team he faced being pretty darn good, hopefully he can gain some confidence from that outing. Don’t know if he will ever put it all together but you can see why he was projected to be a solid starter in a MLB rotation.

What would Siani’s war be if he hit like Burly?

KCB, that Siani/Burly combo would be a superstar. Kind of like an Edmonds.

Nice to win the series. Keep taking series and you’ll find yourself in the playoffs come October.

Looking around the league, Judge, Soto, Gunnar Henderson, and Ohtani are having really good years. They are all on pace for seasons that would normally easily win an MVP award. Bobby Witt isn’t far behind either with his glove and bat combo at SS.

Yeah, .700 SLG for Judge…Haha! Pujols would be envious…

Ryan “Maalox” Helsley comes through again but man I wish he could at least have one clean inning.

In my opinion Siani is the everyday CF. End of discussion. Carlson and Edman can do whatever. Siani is starting to hit and is the best defensive CF in the league. I have to give the front office credit for finding him. That was defintiely pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

Siani, Winn, Burleson, Pages and now, possibly, Liberatore as far as pleasant surprises for the Cardinals this season.
