11:40 a.m.
RHP Kyle Gibson (5-2, 3.44) vs. TBA
BSM // KMOX
Also BS Southeast and Southwest ExtraJune 19, 2024 at 8:30 am #256966Rubber game and the quest to get back above .500 – part 3. (We were 9-9 at one point if I recall correctly.)
June 19, 2024 at 8:40 am #256969We’ll get there, ZTR. Well, we throttled 3 dong-a-longs last night yet still lost. Cards win this one going away 6-3. Gibson and Kitty both need to be extended a year or two. I’m a bit hesitant at this point to extend Sir Lance-A-Lot. What’s for din-din tonight one may inquire? I think a trip over to Johnny’s Steakhouse in beautiful Sun Prairie just may be in the cards if we win today. If we lose, it’ll be franks & beans, potato chips and a tall glass of chocolate milk.
June 19, 2024 at 10:43 am #256976Gotta be careful with that TBA guy. He likes to throw inside,
June 19, 2024 at 11:41 am #256980Liberatore starting? I thought Gibson was the planned started. Did Gibson get injured pre-game?
June 19, 2024 at 11:51 am #256981Maybe Gibson didn’t make it back in time.
Liberatore gives up back-to-back homeruns.
June 19, 2024 at 11:53 am #256982Liberatore gives up 3 XBH to start the game.

jj-cf-stlParticipantMIA is 29th by R/G, and they are lighting up our pitching.
June 19, 2024 at 12:03 pm #256984
jj-cf-stlParticipantSore back for Kyle Gibson per John Rooney
June 19, 2024 at 12:03 pm #256985Hopefully Gibson doesn’t miss any other starts. Tough start for Liberator with such little notice. Doesn’t excuse throwing meat balls though.
June 19, 2024 at 12:04 pm #256987At least we have Gorman on the active roster to get us within a run again
June 19, 2024 at 12:09 pm #256988
jj-cf-stlParticipantArenado’s base running is saving his season for me. The effort is there.
June 19, 2024 at 12:35 pm #256989Think about Arenados 2 at bats. Inside out swing on a 3-0 count with nobody on and 2 out results in a single. Than with a man on second and 2 outs and a 2-1 count he tries to pull a pitch and pops out.
June 19, 2024 at 12:41 pm #256990And that, friends, is why you don’t put 2 guys who can’t hit back to back.
Edit-Actually, these two guys don’t belong in the lineup on the same day. But I digress.
June 19, 2024 at 1:02 pm #256991
jj-cf-stlParticipantWhen your mound presence doesn’t know how many outs there are…..
June 19, 2024 at 1:30 pm #256993At least Burleson made me laugh with that catch. I’m sure Willie is smiling to.
June 19, 2024 at 1:32 pm #256994Just now had a chance to tune in and checking the box it looks like Liberatore was greeted with a twin tater ambush. Poor kid.
June 19, 2024 at 1:34 pm #256995E-5 Das Boot!
June 19, 2024 at 1:36 pm #256996Haha…couldn’t get the oven mitt down and we’re tied!
June 19, 2024 at 1:45 pm #256997
jj-cf-stlParticipantWe’ve had guys pitching this series I’ve never heard of. After the deadline, understandable, but while we’re possibly a wild card?
June 19, 2024 at 1:46 pm #256998Boy, it looked like that one got him good.
June 19, 2024 at 2:01 pm #256999Early start out here in the mountain west – I did not check in until the 8th and saw Arenado get plunked. Hopefully nothing serious as all we need are to lose infielders now.
Another close one. Our good fortune in these games is likely to even out so we may just lose this series. At some point it would be nice to sail into the late innings up something like 7-1.
June 19, 2024 at 2:16 pm #257002Cardinals lose two of three.
They can’t beat first place teams, and they can’t beat last place teams.
June 19, 2024 at 2:19 pm #257003Pretty clear Burleson should never play anything other than DH.
June 19, 2024 at 2:24 pm #257004Well, there you go. Two gut punch walk-off losses to the worst team in the NL.
