Hopefully Bloom takes over before Mo gives Carp the extension.

Not what you’d call the hands outfield. Andre better get a lot of ground balls.

Maybe if they give him a puppy dog at the end of the year he will get the message.

Since it could be Carp’s last home game in STL (maybe) they should have let him hit leadoff.

They’re trading Goldie? Did I hear them say that?

If you’re going to go with today’s outfield, then you want Pallante pitching. One ball to the grass so far through 3.

Goldy is about to be a free agent. There is no trade to be made.

It looks like they gave us two free runners to start off the 3rd and there they sat through the next three batters. On Gamecast it looks like we didn’t even get one out of the infield.

The last home game of the ’24 season. A season in which the Cardinals never led in the NLC. Not even for a day. Not too much for baseball fans to get excited about with this year’s edition. I also have to say that I couldn’t detect very much enthusiasm or intensity in the vast majority of the players on this team’s roster throughout the entire season. They most often had the appearance of simply going through the motions and never really looked like they were ready to get out there on the field and play to win. I lay that squarely on the shoulders of the manager and his coaches. I don’t care who they add or subtract to the roster during the offseason. This team will never win anything with the current guy situated on the top step.

Well nice win to finish the home schedule. Pallante has made a statement to be in the 2025 rotation.

Was switching back and forth between our game and Broncos-Bucs. Denver gets their first win as the rookie quarterback looked real good.

And speaking of Denver, the Cardinals head out here and I will be in attendance Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. Looks like good weather here – sunny and around 70 for the high all week.

A 2-0 Royals’ loss to the Giants coupled with a 4-3 Tiger’ win over the Orioles really places the ALWC slots into question heading into the last week of the ’24 season. KC’s taking on the look of a monumental choke job as they’ve now lost 7 straight.

Another nice start out of Pallante. And Kitty. Words cannot adequately express the marvelous job Kitty has done this season. I’m still hoping the team soon unveils a brand spanking new 2 year club friendly contract with Kitty’s name gracing it. If we don’t ink him then there’s……ohhh about 29 other teams out there that would love to give a new home to Kitty. Ink Kitty and ink him now, Mo!

I find it amusing that by far the most lucrative contract Kittredge’s namesake ever signed in his 25 year HOF career was one which paid him $200K for a seasons’ work. It also happened to be the season he finally played on a WS Championship team as a LH’ed relief pitcher for the StL. Cardinals.

Dang – a team I am hoping can get to the AL post season gave up a 5-0 lead today and lost 6-5. The Seattle Mariners could not bring it home. I have always liked that team and hope they can put it together this week in a big series against Houston.

Meanwhile as 1TD mentioned, the Royals are reminding us of the ‘64 Phillies. Can they get to 10 losses in a row?

The original Kitty really helped us get that 1982 championship. I always think of him as a Twin though and had him sign a 1966 Topps card when I met him at the 2023 National Sports Collectors Convention.

Quite apart from Kitty’s results, anyone who was once traded for Manny Motter deserves a job for life.

Yeah, the Mariners are making a run at a WC berth too, Bikemike, but that loss today to TX. really hurts their chances. And the Royals were in command less than a couple of weeks ago and actually sat atop the ALC at the end of August. They need Brett and Saberhagen to dial it in and step it up. Meanwhile, I think the biggest surprise in baseball is the Tigers. I don’t think anyone saw them coming around the mountain.

Yeah, the Tigers were sellers at the deadline. Now they are contend-a’s.

    FYI here,
Dodgers trailed 5-4 heading to the last of the 9th at Doyer Stadium against the Rockies. Ohtani homered. Then Betts homered.

    Doyers win 6-5.
