The Cards take the lead with the help of a SB by Goldy. 99 year old Goldy is now tied with Winn in SBs at 11. Winn has 5 CS to none for Goldy.

5 inning Fedde went 6 IP. Nice outing.

With the possible exception of Edman, I think he’s been the best baserunner on the team since he came to StL. I can’t remember ever seeing him make a patently bad decision on the basepaths.

Kittridge gives up a dong to Grandal. Tied 2-2 now.

Pirates have 1st and 3rd with two outs in the top of the 8th.

    UPDATE:
An rbi single and the Pirates take a 3-2 lead. Still batting……

Man, Ohtani had a game for the ages!! Just think if he gets back to pitching at a high level next year.

Yeah, at 29 years of age, he’s got more than a good chance to win his third NL MVP award at the same age in which Pujols was awarded his third.

Well we are almost cooked after that one. Both the Mets and DBacks are winning, and if either one holds on our Mortal Number is down to 2. It could be official tomorrow night, but mostly likely the season will end with us outside looking in over the weekend at the latest.

And who would have thought back in April that the Brewers would be the first team in the Big Leagues to clinch a division title? And oh…If the season ended today, the Tigers would qualify for the post-season. I guess that’s why they make these teams play the games.

    3-2 Pirates the final.

    Donovan a four hit night.

Can’t score any runs. Story of 2024.

Welll lour boy genius struck again. With two out and a runner on first he pulls a 30 hold pitcher to match up with a right handed hitter. Then our right handed pitcher gives up a hit, then a game winning hit to two right handed hitters. So JoJo gets a loss out of his control. How do you think he feels about Ollie’s managerial genius tonight.

then in the bottom of the ninth everyone is swinging first pitch rather than working to get on base. Like let’s get this game over and get the hell out of here.

Ollie’s pen moves have been getting it done lately, I think. Romero does have a pretty bad handedness split, and I see he’s somehow logged 8 blown saves. I’m not an Ollie fan, but I don’t hang this loss on him. Hitters have to hit or we can’t win. Lately when the bronze busts have been showing signs of life, Winn and Burleson, who had been the stand outs, have cooled off. It’s hard to accomplish much when the top of the order is cold and the power bats are not producing much power.

It is surprising that the Tigers have played so well. They were sellers at the deadline too, sending our old buddy Jack Flaherty to the Dodgers.

Our club is at the point where we need to go 9-0 the rest of the way, and both the D-Backs and Mets need to go 0-9. And even if that happened Atlanta would need to finish up no better than 2-7. And even if all that happened the Cubs would have to finish no better than 7-2. The odds of all that happening are so small you could not see the number even with a magnifying glass.

Yep not only is he the best hitter on the planet he can also pitch it 100mph. Everyone laughed at the Dodgers for giving him $700M but they aren’t laughing now.
