September 14, 2024 at 7:15 pm #267283O’Brien’s ERA is 11.25. Being out all year with a forearm flexor strain probably means he has elbow trouble. Maybe just shut him down. Maybe accept that the Mariners sold us a lemon.

To celebrate the moment I shall be consuming a Sunday din-din with the last of the cantaloupe melon, followed by duck breasts roasted with baby potatoes and carrots and finishing with a thick slice of banana cake, all washed down with a couple glasses of Saint Emilion.
Rah Cardinals!
September 15, 2024 at 12:23 pm #267305Just watch them, be happy & stop complaining.
September 15, 2024 at 12:42 pm #267307This season will mercifully be over two weeks from today. I am already mentally in off season mode.
September 15, 2024 at 1:11 pm #267310I fail to see a complaint in the post, but if you do I’m heartily sorry.
September 15, 2024 at 1:18 pm #267311There’s still a month and a half of baseball to play…Go Royals!
September 15, 2024 at 1:23 pm #267312I can’t detect a clear favorite to win the WS this season, but I’m guessing the handicappers are probably leaning towards either the Yankees or Phillies. I’ll be pulling for the Dodgers in the NL, but obviously the tournament type format leaves the NL Pennant up for grabs. In the AL, I’m going to guess that the Astros could be a team that could be dangerous and may advance a lot further than most would have predicted.
September 15, 2024 at 1:34 pm #267313Usually Siani, the guy everyone knows can’t hit, is out hitting half our lineup. But with Goldy sitting it out, Siani is only out hitting 3 of the other 8. Walker, Baker and Saggese. Noot has recently pulled a few points ahead of Siani.
September 15, 2024 at 1:41 pm #267314Looks like the Blue Jays are drawing substantially more fans than the Cardinals.
September 15, 2024 at 2:58 pm #267315Goldschmidt pinch-hits in the 8th and on the first pitch hit into a 6-4-3 DP. Killed any rally.
He needs to go. Please let him Mo and Company.
September 15, 2024 at 2:59 pm #267316Need a tater here in the ninth. Do it when in matters most.
September 15, 2024 at 3:11 pm #267317Nope. Back under .500
September 15, 2024 at 3:18 pm #267319Now we face Skenes tomorrow night. Soon we will be back to two games under .500.
September 15, 2024 at 3:28 pm #267320The Cardinals still have 13 remaining games to play, so there’s a decent chance for them to get reasonably close to the level of futility they displayed in ’23. I wouldn’t underestimate the whiz-kids’ team to finish up with a resounding thud…”I’ll tell you that!”
September 15, 2024 at 3:37 pm #267321They havn’t been any more entertaining than last years team. Arenado and Goldy saw to that.
September 15, 2024 at 3:48 pm #267322Tony Romo is on CBS calling the Chiefs game if you want to hear the best NFL analyst out there.
September 15, 2024 at 5:23 pm #267323Well the Denver Broncos are looking a bit like the football version of our Cardinals early on. Basically kind of boring, a rookie at quarterback, not much offense. Wait, they just ran a flea flicker and completed a long one!
Right now the Cardinals are the worst team in the NL Central in run differential, and their record is starting to reflect that. Only three teams in the NL are worse, making us 12th out of the 15 teams. A lot of work to do.
For post season, historically I root for teams with former Cardinals. The Dodgers have two such members, Edman and Flaherty, but I am going to go for the Padres and manager Mike Shildt. In the AL, I will put my support behind Cleveland, but am okay with Kansas City and Michael Wacha as well. I also like Baltimore.
September 15, 2024 at 6:08 pm #267325At only 3.5 games back, Shildt’s Padres still have a chance at taking the the NLW crown. They also have 3 remaining head to head games with the Dodgers at LA coming up in a bit more than a week.
